It's been an incredibly fun almost 4 years in Hattrick.
I have seen the USA (and Hattrick itself) grow up and have been honored and blessed to have been a part of it.

Unfortunately, all things must end. I have found myself having less and less fun with the game, and once the fun is gone there is no reason to stay.

I leave with a ML record of 92 wins, 13 ties, and 41 losses and three Major League titles.

I have met a lot of people playing this game, and 99.9% of them have been great.

But unfortunately the very small, vocal minority was enough to sour my experience and to eventually lead me away from the game.

Looking back, the worst thing I ever did was run for a second term as National coach. Up until then this game had never been a chore, but right from the beginning of my second term as national coach things soured and I found myself constantly contemplating leaving.

I told myself I would stay till the end of my term, because I did owe that to the people that supported me. Then I told myself things will get better once I can focus just on my club team that the joy would return, and I told myself one more season, one more season...

Then I realized early this season it was less enjoyable to stay than to leave, so I made the decision to just go. It was not fair to the rest of the Major League or to the USA to be holding down a spot in the top league when my heart was not in it any more. Hopefully some division IV or V team will reach the ML because of this and that makes me feel good about the decision.

Hattrick has been a big part of my life for almost four years, but the time came were the game had ran its course: there is nothing left for me to do or accomplish, and there was no longer joy in playing.

I sincerely want to thank all of the wonderful people I have met in this game, and I wish you all the best of luck in Hattrick and most importantly in life.

I am Ergo the magnificent.
Short in stature, tall in power, narrow of purpose and wide of vision.

I just saw that in the US Forum.

He sounds like he's being a baby tho, a few people soured his experience? Sheesh, get over yourself...

That sucking noise was the massive vacum created when Slashers ego left HT.

I really think that people perceive his ego as being larger than it is. Having met Kevin, I can tell you that he is a good guy. He does speak out when things are wrong and has gotten a bad rap for that. Granted he has done his share of complaining, but who here really hasn't. We have all had that bad beat where we've dominated the game and still lost. I consider myself a very patient person, but blew up over a form issue that I had at the beginning of Season 22.

We've seen everybody blow up from time to time. I think that it is unfair to hold him to higher standards than we have for ourselves, just because he was an "old" team that was in the ML.

Hattrick is losing a good player. I can only wish the best for him.

I don't think that's why people think he has an ego, for me at least, his attitude about the national team/how he was treated vs current coaches are treated is what has given me a negative opinion of him.

And now his "I'm leaving" attention grab isn't improving my perception of him.

Both of the Shooks usually don't seem like the nicest of guys on the conferences, but if you talk (instant messenger or face-to-face like RH did) then you can see that they are pretty nice guys. But I can easily understand his decision after I considered quitting last season.

Bah I never planned to do it in the first place. I didn't want to play, but didn't want to lose my team :D

I personally don't see it as attention grabbing. If anybody in the ML were leaving the game, people would want an explanation. I think that Slashers was only trying to explain why he was leaving so that George didn't have to answer all the questions when he left.

Now, if only somebody could talk Ardent away from the game . . . ;)

Sometimes I think Ardent would leave Punkin' sooner than he'd leave Hattrick. ;)

But if Ardent left, who'd give us those great updates via Hattrick (email) on Jerome?

That's pretty much a given.
