And the results are in. We had 36 entries to IWS #81, including a couple of self-proclaimed first timers, and some people who answered the questions like they were first timers. A few of the questions had huge majority answers, so if you didn't get em, your chances were none. So, heres how people responded.

1. Name a member of the current administration's cabinet.
Colin Powell- 19
Donald Rumsfeld- 9
Condoleeza Rice- 4
Dick Cheney- 4

Pretty good spread on this one. Rumsfeld made a late run, as it looked like Powell was going to run away with it at first.

2. Name a "battleground state" in the upcoming election.
Florida- 27
Ohio- 6
Iowa- 2
Michigan- 1

I was expecting more of Ohio and Michigan on this one, and no so much Florida. The midwest is very up for grabs, but with the Florida debacle in the 2000 election, this isn't a huge shocker. This question eliminated many people.

3. Name a deceased former President.
Ronald Reagan- 28
John F. Kennedy- 4
George Washington- 2
Abraham Lincoln- 1
Richard Nixon- 1

Another elimination question. I should have excluded Reagan from this one with his recent death and all, but I didn't think of it. I'm kind of surprised that JFK only showed up with 4 points.

4. Name a Las Vegas Casino.
Caesar's Palace- 13
Bellagio- 8
MGM Grand- 4
The Mirage- 3
Harrah's- 3
Luxor- 2
Binion's- 2
Sahara- 1

This one was all over the place, as expected. I would've said MGM Grand to this question, and I was thinking it would be the MGM or Caesar's to take this one.

5. Name a professional poker player.
Chris Moneymaker- 15
Phil Hellmuth- 10
Howard Lederer- 3
Vegas Vic- 2
Phil Ivey- 2
Johnny Chan- 2
Ben Affleck- 1
Sam Farha- 1

And a non-professional poker player wins the professional poker player question. Pretty interesting. Sam Farha with only 1 vote, that's disappointing.

6. Which NFL team would you place a futures bet on to win the Superbowl?
New England Patriots- 30
Philadelphia Eagles- 2
Atlanta Falcons- 1
Oakland Raiders- 1
Minnesota Vikings- 1
Indianapolis Colts- 1

Someone remind me to go bet on the Patriots. They're the overwhelming pick here. The Eagles with only 2 votes is pretty shocking. After adding TO and Kearse, I'd be expecting them to share the lead with the Patriots. But I guess not.

I was with stupid for five questions. Then I said "New England" is the obvious choice. Then I thought "wait a second" it says a futures bet. Who would I make a futures bet on? Thus the one vote for Indianapolis.

I've been off my mark on the last two. I should stop spending so much time doing work at work and more time focusing on the important things like IWS. :D

Joe

I think you're suppossed to collaborate with the other winners. Or we can just go with whoever sent their answers in first. Whatever works.

That was me :p I don't keep up on poker at all and was too lazy to do a search for professionals.

Why??? Isn't the object of the game is to come up with the same answer as everyone else? So why are you surprised at this or "shocked" at Eagles? It wouldn't be any more different than if everyone (or the 30 that knew how to play this game) put down the Cardinals.

Joe

Because I thought the common answer would be the eagles... or more common

But we already know to answer any question regarding a team and a superbowl with last years super bowl champion.

Damn Casino and Poker questions ruined my chances.

I was thinking about picking moneymaker, but than I remembered that he wasn't a pro... I should've picked him.:(

Question 4 and 5 sucked me into below mediocrity, those questions had no success in store for me.
On the other 4, I am happy to have hit the #1 in questions 2, 3 and 6, but those were easy IWS questions. (Florida: duh, Patriots: duh, Reegan: duh over his recent death, Rumsfeld over Powell made sense to me, but obviously I missed the #1 there)

Vegas Vic was a funny answer and for the casino I went with Luxor, not knowing what should be #1. (I feel stupid, because the casino question was there before and I am supposed to at least answer earlier questions correctly.)
