Looks like Pirates! is coming to the XBox, albeit a few months later than the PC version. See hxxp://www.firaxis.com/company_showrelease.cfm?releasenum=56 .I wonder how a Sid Meier title will translate to the console, but this could be promising. Yet another reason to buy an Xbox if you have a stuttering old PC. With Fable, Pro Evo Soccer 4 (crossing my fingers for an N.A. release) and Halo 2 coming up, I'm glad I own one.

There was actually a version of Civ2 for the original Playstation that translated pretty well. Never played the original Pirates!, but I'll keep an eye on this one.

I owned Civ2 for the SNES. It wasn't as good (not nearly as deep) as the computer version, but it was still enough to keep me up until 4am numerous times...

I think Pirates! is a natural for any console. It was a joystick game at heart, and I expect the newest version to be much the same.
