I just had a Yahoo draft the other day and as usual, I seek the expert advice of the members of this board. Here is the scoring system this league uses. 10 team league

Field Goals 0-19 Yards (3)
Field Goals 20-29 Yards (3)

Points Allowed 14-20 points (1)
Points Allowed 21-27 points (0)
Points Allowed 28-34 points (-1)
Points Allowed 35+ points (-4)

Here is my team

QB: Michael Vick (2nd Round, Pick 10)
RB: Priest Holmes (1st Round, Pick 1)
RB: Quentin Griffin (9th Round, Pick 1)
WR: Torry Holt (3rd Round, Pick 1)
WR: Reggie Wayne (6th Round, Pick 10)
WR: Justin McCareins (7th Round, Pick 1
TE: Todd Heap (5th Round, Pick 1)
K: Jay Feely (Round 13, Pick 1)
DEF: Minnesota (8th Round, Pick 10)

Bench

David Carr - QB (Round 12, Pick 10)
Julius Jones - RB (10th Round, Pick 10)
Steven Jackson - RB (Round 15, Pick 1)
Brian Westbrook - RB (4th Round, Pick 10)
Donte' Stallworth - WR (11th Round, Pick 1)
Tyrone Calico - WR (Round 14, Pick 10)

My thoughts:

Panicked in Round 4 and took Westbrook cause I wanted to get a 2nd RB. It was between him, Heap, Shockey, and Peerless Price. Shockey doesn't get TDs and I didn't want to rely that heavily on the Falcons. Getting Julius Jones and Quentin Griffin makes me feel much better. I wanted atleast one rookie RB because atleast one runs for 1,000 yards a season, and I think Jones has a very good shot of being that guy. QB I think Vick will stay healthy and have a top season, and at the last pick in Round 2, that is pretty good value. Carr will be a quality backup and has the potential to be a good starter. Once I saw the #1 pick, there was no doubt it'd be Priest. Of Westbrook, Jackson, Jones, and Griffin, I think atleast one will step up as a #2 RB. Holt as a #1 WR is pretty solid, but there is some uncertainty about McCareins and less so about Wayne. Each had 800+ yards and 7 TDs last season, so I could be worse. I only took Heap in Round 5 because there weren't any other options I felt were worth the pick and I like having a good TE. Minnesota has some very good young players on its defense and Feely in consistently rated as a top fantasy kicker, but even if they don't work out, top 10 guys can be had off waivers, so I waited a while to choose one and I obviously don't keep a backup on the roster.

Anyways, those are my thoughts. Yours?

Not bad. I'll admit I didn't spend much time analyzing your scoring system, so forgive me if my comments are overlooking some sort of scoring quirk.

Priest was a solid pick at 1.1. I think the second round is too early for Vick. Your RB squad is a solid, although it would be nice to have a clearcut stud as your #2 guy. Still, one of those young guys should step up and Priest will be money as always. The WR corps is decent, but nothing special. You took some risks there and I like the picks, but when starting 3 WRs it would be nice to have two dependable options, not just one. Heap is a stud at TE and round five is about right for him. Feely is a dome kicker with a good leg which is all you need. And others may not like the Vikings pick, but I'm with you on that one, I think they'll be a good fantasy defence this year.

I'd give you a C-/B+. Good enough to have a shot at the playoffs and maybe catch a few breaks from there and win it all.

You'll need to have Vick stay healthy and pick up that offense lickety split and I'm not sold on that. Still, Carr is a good backup. I think he's destined for a nice season. I actually think the WR corps are pretty good- solid but not spectacular. The big problem I see is that you lack 2 good RBs and that's going to hurt. Priest is Priest so that makes up for a lot but I would have used that 2.10 pick on a second RB and go with another QB with Carr who doesn't have as much ceiling but is solid.

No problemo. In time it may look like a trained monkey could have done better.
