The Continental Football League is seeking active owners for our two year old league. It is a fictional league which features a diverse group of owners who take pride in each of their teams. We are looking for owners as we are currently in the early stages of free agency for the year 2005. There is plenty of time to jump in and start shaping your team the way you want. The teams open range from winners to losers so most likely a team is available to suit your needs. The following teams are open -

Albany - Albany is a team that had a very successful season last year. They are lead by QB Rocky McFarland and also feature a talented RB in Joseph Still. They have an offensive line that is capable of dominating. They also have receivers who can catch the ball. Not as well with Albany though. Their defense needs upgrading. And the previous owner may have set them up for some serious cap problems in the future. The team will pick 27th in the upcoming draft.

Boston - Boston is home to the leagues’ strongest man in LT Michael Nelson. He is also one f the best tackles in the game. SS Will Rodriguez and RB William Sheehan also highlight the squad. The team lacks an effective QB to take it to the next level. They will pick 14th in the draft.

Charleston - Charleston was the 2004 CFL Bowl Winners. How many times do you get the chance to take over a team like that? The challenge will be keeping up the victories in the CFL’s toughest division (self-proclaimed). It will also be tough finding a replacement for QB Timothy Gordon, who is set to retire soon. They will pick 32nd in the draft.

Here is some additional links to give you more of a general idea of our league:

In addition, here are some fun things that our league has to offer:

CFL Draft Page (http://www.thecfl.net/draft/draft.html)
2005 CFL Excel Draft File (http://www.lissvall.net/cfldraft2005.xls)

If you have ever thought of jumping into CFL multiplayer, now may be your chance. I think we have a lot to offer as a league. We have a gentleman’s agreement and everyone in the league gets along well. If your interested, please email me at thacharger21 AT hotmail.com or register at our forum and send me a PM or find me on AIM (thacharger2121 is the name). Thank you for your consideration.

Yes! Join in! The league is quite fun and has a lot of great owners... many of whom you see here at FOFC on a regular basis... Although it seems like a lot of teams are available, that is just due to it being the off-season - which is a great time to join the league!

Whoever takes over Charleston better be ready for some tough divisional games once again. We'll continue to be the best division in the league until someone can prove us wrong!

I'd like Charleston to be a pushover team soon enough. The "Black and Blue" division had nothing on AC East.

How can you turn down being in a league with the leading poster at FOFC? We have Arizona coming on the draft clock and we need to get an owner ASAP!

Man, I WISH I had this kind of support system for my league!

Anyways, you talked me into it. I'm in, I'm in. I sent a PM to Golden Eagle. Sounds like you guys have a LOT of fun!

Uh... wrong.

Uh..they've probably hit the draft and they cannot proceed past some picks because they don't have an owner for them. That'd be my guess.

Arizona just picked up a franchise tackle by the name of Leroy Banks. This guys is a hoss. He is the steal of the draft in my opinion. Some of the open teams are going to be drafting very soon, so come join the fun!

I will even make it eaiser on you and post here the open teams...

4. Charleston Sixpacks (14-2) Owner: *open* PTR: 1

The defending champs had a season to remember in 2004, winning every game except the two against Baltimore. QB Timothy Gordon is back to try to give Charleston another championship. Gordon continues to be the best player in the league, but this season he won't have as much talent to help him out. Many starters from the 2004 championship team have found new homes: RB Augustus Severance (New Orleans), WR Ronald Tibbetts (New Orleans), LG Tyron Tedeschi (Durham), DE Joel O'Neill (Long Beach), DT Barry Goldsberry (Detroit), DT Marlon Rook (Long Beach), WLB Javier Quiroz (Durham). Charleston did sign free agent DEs Andy Boulanger and Kasey Cha, who was in high demand after being released by Seattle.

9. Sacramento Dragons (13-3) Owner: *open* PTR: 5

QB Seymour Barre was much improved last season, improving his rating from 64.1 in 2003 to 92.8 in 2004. He also increased his touchdown passes from 9 to 22. His most talented receiver is Brian Lore who topped 1000 receiving yards despite sitting out of the last regular season game. WILB Eddy Castro may get more playing time this year after registering a playoff record 13 tackles against Santa Cruz last season.

20. Boise City Stampede (10-6) Owner: *open* PTR: 25

Boise won 7 out of their last 9 regular season games last year before losing to Las Vegas in the wild card round. The team's most talented player is now DE Dominick Block who played for San Antonio last year. Block has 15.5 sacks in two seasons but has the talent to do even more. On offense they acquired a good pass blocking guard, Darron Honea. Boise still has a decent amount of cap room left and could make some interesting moves in the free agency period after the draft.

21. Albany Engineers (11-5) Owner: *open* PTR: 6

Albany has a major salary cap problem as a result of giving out over $148 million in signing bonuses last season! That money did result in a playoff berth last year after they led the league in points allowed with 213. This year they haven't been able to add any new players but are still hanging on to their core group which includes QB Rocky McFarland, RB Jonathan Sill, and C Earnest Fant.

25. Boston Panthers (8-8) Owner: *open* PTR: 15

Boston is another team that has finished 8-8 two years in a row. The team hasn't changed much from last year so we might see a three-peat! They still rely on their offensive line and running game to take the pressure off of QB Charles McMillan. McMillan's job is to avoid mistakes and not lose the game. Last year's big FA acquisition was CB James Nichols who excels at man-to-man coverage. If he has another big year then this team will be very competitive against division foes Hartford, Atlantic City, and New York.

30. Arizona Outlaws (5-11) Owner: *open* PTR: 21

Arizona starts out with 6 away games in first 7 weeks. Maybe that's a good thing since they had about 22,000 empty seats at each home game last season. Maybe fans are waiting until 2006 when Arizona is scheduled to get a new stadium. The Outlaws' lone star on offense is last year's 1st round draft pick RB Artie Sonntag who rushed for 1000 yards and 6 TDs in his rookie season. This year they took 293 lb. OT Leroy Banks with their 1st round draft pick. Going with an offensive player was wise since they are stocked on defense.
