Curious on opinions here.
We had our draft Saturday, and I headed into things with Edge and Domanick Davis as my keepers, holding the 2nd overall pick in the draft. All other teams had 2 keepers (though one team had kept Ricky Williams), aside from 1 team that had acquired a 3rd through trade.
Starting Lineup (Roster Max): QB(2), RB(3), RB/WR, 2 WR(4), TE(2), K(2), D/ST(2)
My final roster:
Player (Round, Selection)
QB: McNabb (1,2), Roethlisberger (10, 15)
RB: James (K), Davis (K), C. Perry (6,15)
WR: K. Robinson (2, 15), R. Williams (4, 15), J. Smith (5,2), M. Jenkins (7,2)
TE: Shockey (3,5)
K: J. Brown (8,15)
D/ST: Minn (9,2), Atl (11,2)
I headed into this draft looking to build more for next year than this year, though aside from McNabb's bye week, I think I can be competitive most of this season (barring injuries).
Shockey was the last of the big 5 (Gonzalez was kept, Heap, Winslow and Crumpler had all been drafted by the time I took Shockey) left at the TE position, though I waited too long for a backup QB. Wanted to take one in the 7th round, but by then, pretty much all the good one's were gone, so unless Big Ben is the starter by McNabb's bye week, he'll be off the team. I'll probably go with a 3 WR, 1 RB lineup during Edge's and Davis' bye weeks unless Perry looks to be getting a lot of carries by then.
At the end of the season, we can keep 3 current players, and an additional player acquired via trade during the offseason, which I don't think will be a problem as I should have plenty of trade bait.
