If you know hockey, you know Sidney Crosby is the most touted prospect in some time. Wayne Gretzky himself said he could shatter his records. Well, I've also noticed the curiousty of Crosby when it comes to people in NHL EHM, so I am going to chronicle his venture on my team.
Back history: I won the Stanley Cup in 2005 over Colorado in 7 games. Draft time neared, and I was running low on funds, so when Billy Guerin left my team (acquired for Brard Richards, I got a pick in return as well), I realized I needed a boost. Enter the Edmonton Oilers. I decided to mortgage my future, dealing away my 05 first, my 06 first, my 07 first and my 09 first, along with a 2nd and a prospect for Edmontons first and a few extra picks.
So here we are, 2005-06 season, looking to defend out Cup, with Crosby leading the charge.
For now he's going to see time on the second line, centering Jeff Halpern and Cory Stillman.
But, let us venture into the rookie season of Sidney Crosby..

Sidney Crosby failed to disappoint, even though his Lightning fell 4-3 in overtime to the New York Islanders, in a rematch of last years Eastern Conference Final.
Crosby scored Tampa Bay's second and third goals. within 58 seconds of each other. Martin St. Louis assissted on the first, while he also chipped in with an assist on the second, along with Dan Boyle.

thanks Mike, CS.
I'm interested too. His stats have been unreal thus far. The Q might be an offensive league, but he was well beyond anyone else.

CROSBY WINS FIRST NHL AWARD
TAMPA BAY, FL -- Sidney Crosby, the next big thing in the NHL, the star center of the Tampa Bay Lightning received his first NHL accolade after being named the NHL Rookie of the Month for October. Crosby leads all rookies in goals with 7, and points with 13.
Crosby, as you know, was made the #1 overall pick after Tampa Bay decided to gamble their future firsts all away in landing him. The results have paid dividence thus far for Tampa Bay, as they are only two points out of first, and look poised for another Cup run.

We go 3-2 during this stretch to continue in third place. As a team we look solid, but we could use some more depth perhaps. I'll be looking into possible trades as the season goes on.

NO ONE can break Gretzky's records in the modern NHL.
Crosby looks like the real deal, though. :)

Over the last 7 games, we're 6-0-1, and Crosby has had a lot to do with it. The Calder is almost looking like a shoe in, and so is the Hart, though that will be going to Martin St. Louis, who is lighting opponenets up. Hardware might not stop there, as Dan Boyle looks like a frontrunner for the Norris this season.

I expect Crosby to be Marcel Dionne, Luc Robitaille good, which is really good....Not Gretz of Mario.....
Heres a tip....If you want this dynasty to become a all-time great one...trade Sidney to Toronto ;)

I am gonna get back into detail in his second year, for now I will summarize what happened in his rookie season. I got carried away and simmed to far, it got all discombobulated. This should get us up to speed.
CROSBY NABS CALDER
Sidney Crosby does it again. How many pieces of hardware does this kid need? Last night at the annual NHL Awards, Sidney Crosby was annointed the Rookie of the Year. The vote wasn't even close, but really it had no reason to be. Crosby beat out Vanek and Andre-Fleury for the honors, after posting a sensational rookie campaign that included 37 goals and 39 assists for 76 points, as well as an unreal plus 43 rating. He had 6 game winning goals, and managed to throw around 44 hits. As an 18 year old in the Stanley Cup playoffs, he played decently, but his stats show otherwise. He was held in check with only a goal and four assists. He played through the Eastern Conference Finals vs the Devils through an injured hip flexor, but soon reaggrivated it vs the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup finals. His loss, mixed in with the loss of Dan Boyle led the Wings to an easy 4-1 series win. All is not lost however, as he looks forward to another sensational year in Tampa Bay.
Other notable Lightning award winners..
Martin St. Louis won the Hart Trophy after an impressive 91 point campaign
Jeff Halpern won the Selke Trophy
Sidney Crosby won the Calder Trophy
All in all, a solid year for the Lightning, though one they know they can approve upon.
