Did Nutt bother to tell Arrion Dixon after the game that the intentional twists of Vince Young's ankle were supposed to take place in piles, not blatantly in the middle of the field?

Yeah I saw that, too. Pathetic. I had the volume down, did the announcers make a big deal out of it?

Ron Franklin made a comment about it and then dropped it. I think he was trying to keep himself from going overboard.

I think players forget they are under the watchful eyes of many cameras, most with outstanding zoom capabilities. Kind of like that thug from Ohio St. at Wisconsin last year.

I haven't heard anything else about it. Dixon would miss next game if I were coach. What a disgrace.

the best part was when the fans cheered him being hurt

i think we found a nice place to let everyone test their nukes out. would anyone really miss arkansas?

i doubt seriously that is what the cheering was for, though i admit to being puzzled at the time. our fans have never been like that. always respectful of injured players as a whole.

MJ4H -

Your home crowd hadn't "entertained" the Longhorns in 13 years before Saturday night. The cheering was most definitely for that reason. Still, I'm sure it wasn't everyone, but it was a very vocal minority if it was a minority.

The cheering was most definitely for that reason. I reiterate that I doubt that seriously.

Well, I suppose the "Good, I hope he's out for the year!" quotes I've heard about are lies. Yes, they're second-hand, but I have no reason to doubt them from people that were at the game as well as pretty much every away game.

I imagine it might not make sense to you since you seem like a reasonable guy, but there exists a large number of Razorback fans (along with Aggie fans, Sooner fans, etc.) that have a very irrational hatred of all things Longhorn. I save my irrational hatred for OU, but unlike many fans, I keep it above hoping for injury and harm against their players and personnel.

Dixon did it, lots of your fans cheered it, and it was wrong. Hell, Selvin Young heard about how happy some of your fans were he was being wheeled around with an aircast on his ankle during the game. Sure it's disgusting, but it was an SEC night game against a hated rival. How can you so vehemently doubt that there weren't some ignorant and/or drunk idiots saying stuff like that and cheering about it? I don't doubt for a second that if Jason White hurts his knee in Dallas against Texas that there won't be a thousand idiot Longhorn fans or more that cheer.

some, I don't doubt for a second. Enough to mention that the "razorback fans were cheering because he was injured so let's nuke the whole state" no. with that i am done.

I can't believe I will be defending Hogs/Hog fans, but you Texas fans get off your high horses! Whats up with the football rivalry talk on this board lately?
Yes such behavior should be unexceptable but to say "___ fans are classless(in an exceptional way)?" Classic rival fan behavior, our rivals have classless fans, we would never stoop to their level! I have met plenty of Hog fans, I have met plenty of Texas fans. I have no doubt that both schools have overdone fans that would cheer for an injury to a rival's player. They are both large universities for god's sakes. Is it any surprise that they would attract some jerks from their respected states?

As a (sort of) rival I have every reason to want to hate Arkansas fans, but having sit along with them at games I have found nothing that makes them any worse than Texas fans(who I have also sat along side of).

WTF? Did you quote the wrong post? That was exactly my point. In fact I specifically mentioned that there are plenty of Texas fans that would do the same thing?

I just want to say that I saw the play. It was stupid of Dixon to do that. There are thugs in college sports. We are all aware of that. Broyles (the AD of Arkansas) is a thug. I do not agree with it at all. I think it was a small majority of those he cheered the injury, Some people like to applaud when a player is injuried to show sportsmanship.

However, ImetTrentGreen's coment was way over the top and is showing the same type of attiude of Dixon.

If you were saying that there are Texas fans that would do the same thing, sorry, I have been known to be a little quick on the trigger. I just read that as "I have no doubts that there will not be a thousand Longhorn fans that..." In other words there will not be a thousand idiot Longhorn fans that will cheer in that situation. Damn multiple negatives! Again sorry if I misunderstood yo.

Well at least the LSU Arkansas games are always in late November.
