She's got a Goldie-Hawn-as-weathergirl thing going on. She gets the "5-penises-nailed-to-the-board" (this time it's plywood, out of respect for the hurricanes) award.

I've been watching way too much weather channel the past month.

That is all.

Oh, and no John Tesh Excites Me fritzing is allowed.

I now fully expect the rest of this thread to be a continuing discussion of naughty things board members wish to do to the news and weather babes they've been seeing too much of because of all the storms we've had the last month.

It's a link to google, which means it's work safe, IMO.

You have to see her in action.

It also helps not to picture her next to 97 year old Marshall Seese.

Damn, you have been watching TWC a lot, haven't you? I tend to watch because I'm somewhat of a weather geek, but it also helps that there are several nice looking ladies presenting the weather on occassion.

I say that because you'd have to watch enough to know who Seese exactly is.

I live in Florida. I'm not joking when I say that the Weather Channel probably could have charged Super Bowl rates for ads during August and September and gotten away with it. We've all watched way too much Weather Channel in this state.

Even so, it's the SOS every half-hour most of the time for things like this. Even the saps out in the field basically say the same thing and run the same clips over and over again. It gets pretty dull after a while. I usually check in anymore only around the advisory releases to see what's up.

Ksyrup
09-15-2004, 11:04 AM
I know, but it's like watching a trainwreck - you can't turn away, even when they keep showing the same stuff.

Plus, around here, Stephanie Abrams is well-known, and the Frances coverage made her a mini-celeb. She used to work for the local ABC affiliate and taught a class at FSU. One of our runners took a class with her, and said she used to dress "very nicely" and the front row was filled with guys who normally would be slepping in the back of the class.

Wolfpack
09-15-2004, 12:13 PM
Now that I can imagine to be true.

She can't be that old, can she? Being able to teach a met class seems to imply either she's holding down a Ph.D. or she was a grad assistant or something?

Ksyrup
09-15-2004, 12:29 PM
I don't know what it takes to be a "meteorologist." Maybe it's just a 4-year degree? I have no clue. She was more than a grad assistant, though. I thinnk she taught while she worked as a meteorologist for ABC.

Every time the Weather Channel has job listings on its web site for on-camera meteorologists, they list a qualification as 10 years of meteorology experience (I also think they ask for a considerable amount of time in a big TV market, so I would guess that there would be at least a couple of years of "paying your dues" in a smaller market first).

I'll have to look at the pictures of Heather Tesch, because I've already forgotten what she looks like, even though I was just watching the channel an hour ago.

I would have been one of the guys in the front row. By the way, I was just watching TWC, and as they were introducing the four meteorologists who were going to provide live reports (and had all of them on the screen at once), Stephanie basically got blown out of the picture by a gust. She's having trouble standing up, and then the next reporter goes on about it's going from bad to worse where he is, and his jacket isn't even moving. He may have been sheltered from the wind, but I think Ms Abrams was definitely getting the worst of it.

The hot dame at the weather channel is definetly Lisa Mozer. She makes weather a good thing to watch. Just in my taste...

LOL! Yeah, that guy did the same thing during Frances. The others got legitimately blown all over the place during the hurricane on the east coast, and that guy was south of us during the tropical storm which did absolutely nothing here, and he was going on and on about how the rain was coming down in sheets, and you couldn't even see rain dripping from his jacket. That guy is a Jim Cantore wannabee.
