Haven’t had one of these posts in about a month so I figure I am due.
So this girl and I are no longer dating. Mainly because she is "scared" or whatever, but we both like(d) each other quite a bit. Circumstances beyond our current control make it really hard for anything to become of this one. So basically we haven’t talked since Sunday, I’ve sent her a few text messages via cell phone just to see how she is doing because I knew she was upset but no replies from her.
Today, I get to work and there is a piece of paper on my screen. It contains verses from the bible. I Cor. 13 1-3 (Fruit of Spirit - Love) and II Tim 1:7/I John 4:18 (Fruit of Flesh - Fear)
No one at work is confessing about putting this on my screen, no one supposedly knows anything. I know her boss knows some guy that I work with pretty well though, I am half tempted to call this girl at work today and see if she has something to do with this, at the risk of sounding like a complete ass.
Np one here at work knows why this relationship ended, as I just stated it just didn’t work out.
This is so weird.

#1: I highly doubt that she got her boss who knows some guy with whom you work to put a note on your computer; therefore, I wouldn't call to find out. It's better to be stupid and only you know about it rather than let everyone know you're an ass.
#2: Why people ask for relationship advice over the internet is beyond me. Most replies you will get will be the above. :)
#3: I know you know what "know" means and how to use it, but you used it incorrectly in the second-to-last sentence. Also I assume you know the difference between "hear" and "here". :)

I Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.
I'll leave it to you to figure out what these mean.

Warning: Serious relationship advice following!
I was in a similar position that you were about two years ago. In fact, it is really similar. We both liked each other, both wanted to date each other. We spent a day together talking about our feelings and what we wanted out of a relationship, and decided to start dating. The next day, out of nowhere, she told me that she was scared, and she was afraid that she had rushed into making a decision too hurriedly.
I was pretty much stunned. We spent the next couple of months apart from each other, and would occasionally bump into each other. Basically, we were at two different stages of life, I was out of college, had just started graduate school and was looking for a serious relationship. She was a junior in college and was really unsure of what she wanted out of life.
Finally, we realized that we weren't meant for each other romantically. It was a pretty tough 9 month period in my life because I fell hard for this girl. She was amazing, and I really wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.
A few months after this, I met my wife and we got married this past summer. Looking back on my experience with Girl #1, I realized that I should have been more patient with her. I really didn't understand just what she was going through and I made it harder on her.
My advice to you is this:
1. If you really like this girl, email her and reassure her of your feelings and tell her that you are willing to wait and help her through her fears.
2. Be prepared for tough, emotional months ahead if you do this. It sounds noble, but there are times when it really stinks.
3. Since she shared Scripture with you (or someone did) I'm assuming that you are a Christian. If so, trust that the Lord will provide for you. I'm totally blown away by the girl I married, and I know she is a gift from God, because I totally don't deserve to have her.
4. If you aren't a believer in Christ, this would be a great opportunity to seek God anyway. God listens to the hurts of our hearts and He knows what is best for you and for her. He uses everything in our lives for His purpose, and there is no obstacle that He can't overcome.
Grace and peace,

It's a common theme for young women to say they're "scared" of going too far or moving too quickly.
It's basically code for saying "no thanks." The male equivalent is "you're too good for me. I don't deserve you."
(edit, this was written before Cap's reply, and obviously, he didn't mean the "not deserving" part as code)
I'm by no means a bible expert, but the quotations sound almost like a rebuke.
And if two other men have been enlisted in delivering this message, meaning she has shared her opinions on this issue with at least one of them, it's best to back off unless you really love her. In which case, it's best to respond with appropriate verse, I guess.

Unfortunately the sober truth is, if a girl says she is "scared"...it really means she has absolutely no desire to be with you in a boyfriend, girlfriend kinda way. She's taking the easy way out.

Like I said earlier, she has very legit reasons to be scared and with respect to her I will not share them. However, she was very upfront and honest about this issue. When she told me, I told her she needs to do what is best for her and her daughter not her and I. She did that.
It appears the piece of paper that was taped to my monitor was put there by a fellow colleague as a joke, he said he found it on the file cabinet and just taped it to my monitor. He didn't and still does not know anything.

While in college I date a number of girls that had children. I have no idea why. I can think of five right off the top of my head. This happened to me on more than one occassion. They chose to focus on their child and not put themselves at risk of getting their heart ripped out again. That they pain of losing a boyfirend would have an adverse affect on their child and they did not want to do that. Sometimes they worried that their child would grow attatched to me and if I left it would hurt the child. I totally understood. I don't know if it is the same in your situation, but one thing I found out was I was able to stay friends with these ladies and help out by babysitting, buying forumula etc., but not pursuing a romantic relationship. Sometimes it lead to an eventual relationship when they felt comfortable that I was different than the child's father. Sometimes we just became good friends. I ended up with my wife this way.

Haji is right about women with kids.. they really have a hard time balancing time needed to share with their kid.. and share time with you away from the kids in a dating relationship..
I was in a situation alot like balldogs.. and the woman was going through a divorce from a abusive husband.. and was quite scared to be seen dating another man in fear of losing custody of her child.. which is a bunch of crap, but the legal system works in strange ways..

Guys, this girls situation is very uncommon and I wish I could tell it, to make things more understandable but I just can't. She did call me last night but she hung up when I answered. I called her back, she said she got scared and hung up. I talked to her for a little while. She's a great girl, just caught up in a terrible situation. Nuff said.
