Another week, another televised poker tournament. This one has 10 players competing for a $2 million purse. Winner takes it all. To be broadcast on ESPN next Tuesday.

Why is annie duke's nickname Double-X? I'll be rooting for Negreanu and Lederer equally, and will guess Lederer or Cloutier wins it.

I'll be rootin for Negreanu just cause I like him so much.
I can't believe that I'm looking forward to a poker game on TV. If you had told me that 6 months ago I would have had you commited.

Phil Ivey was quiet during the WSOP. I think he's due......

I've been watching poker on all the networks and I have noticed Lederer simply kicks ass in these tournament of champion type formats. I think he's the kind of player who probably loses relatively easily to the amateurs, but when he can tune in to just a few players around one table he seems to own them.

Negranu or Lederer. I voted Negranu as he seems to have his 'A' game going this year.
Needs more Jennifer Harman
I think it would have been a good story to include her.... but then again, I have a thing for her :)

I picked Lederer. Negranu will also do really well though.

Negreanu was added at the last minute.
I think I know who wins (hoping I don't, just so I wasn't spoiled), so I won't post my pick on who I think wins it...I'm *hoping* that anyone but Hellmuth wins, though. I'm no longer a fan of his (was I ever to begin with?).

Gotta go with the other guy. He's always tough.
Plus, he's got that surprise factor going for him.

Yeah, Hellmuth is kind of a spaz. I don't like him either. The guy makes it into a life and death thing. It's a game dude, deal with it.

Speaking of Harman, she was supposed to have some sort of transplant during this year's WSOP....is there any news about her condition? I'm too lazy to google for it myself :)

Bumping this back to the top for some last-minute comments, thoughts, etc. I voted for Chan because I think he's due, but, really, any of them can win.
I regret to inform y'all that I'll be watching the season finale of The Amazing Race instead of this. I'm sure I'll catch up sometime.
P.S. The 10th player is Chip Reese.
Shall I ruin the fun and spoil who wins? :D

I also thought the same thing. He's won it all, and finished 3rd and 4th against the biggest fields in history. Seems like a major oversight not to invite him in favor of many of those who were there.

You don't know who was invited....

As far as Harrington not being there...weren't most of these people knocked out earlier in this year's WSOP? Could simply be that this took place at the same time as the final table ,just down the hall or something.

Gus Hanssen was missing too, and he is playing as well as anyone right now. The guy is winning the WPT tournaments left and right against these same players. He also mopped the floor with Lederer, Chan, Ivey, Brunson, and Reese in a similar ToC format on Fox the other night.
