Search Engine Optimization

Anyone have any pointers/free sites with good info? I'm currently reading through the newsletters on: http://mediumblue.com/newsletters

I'm going to register oliegirl's website on search engines but really don't know a lot about how to get it as recognized as possible w/o spending money(I'm doing some research myself as well, but hopefully some people here will have some experience...)

Also, those that offered lots of great tips when oliegirl posted the site originally will be pleased:

Total re-design, CSS floating layout, I've learned a lot in the last few weeks! I am, of course, open to additional advice/thoughts, but am about 5000 times happier with the way the site looks now.

Best website for these issues that I have found is by far: http://www.webmasterworld.com/home.htm

To get listed in google, yahoo, msn, etc. is pretty easy. I usually just link to the site from one of my own personal sites that is already listed and it is usually picked up by the search engines in a couple of days. Getting top listings is a different matter though, and the above website can help a lot there.

Also, getting your site listed in http://www.dmoz.com/ will get you indexed in most major search engines.
