Monster Park, heh. Do you get personalized job search results when you walk in?

Much better than a lot of these parks' names.

That could be one of the worst names out there.

"Monster has always been an unusual name."

Except at truck rallies.

"The 49ers have been very scary at Monster Park this year."

This is a virtual goldmine for Paul Maguire.

Its much better than "3Com" or "Network Associates" or any other techonogical name. But in the end the only place your going to hear "Monster Park" is on the telecasts. It will always be Candlestick to fans.

Please trade Bledsoe to the 49ers.

Stuart Scott: "And Frankenstein got ill today at Monster Park in San Fran."

Naming rights at all stadiums is just plain wrong. The names are typically sold for something like $30 million, but that is generally over a 30 year period. That workd out to about $1 mil per year which is a lot of cash to you and me, but it isn't enough to realistically put a dent into the costs to run a team. Just look at the salaries. Wow, we made enough cash to pay a couple of scrub players and all we had to do was hang a discraceful and stupid name on our park!

I'm glad the Bengals don't play on naming Paul Brown Stadium anything differently, and the Reds sponsored park Great American Ballpark sounds like a normal name anyways.

i'd be more upset that they let the bengals play there

Yep, will always be Candlestick Park to me.

Same as when they rename my favorite soccer team stadium using Bordeaux most popular mayor (who just died a few years ago...). Will always be "Parc Lescure".

By the way, did they rename Chicago Stadium ? That's one of my favorite stadium name : Soldier Field !

if it's possible, the pictures of the band Asian Wood in their prime is even funnier than the name.

It's still Soldier Field. In a twist, the team is not officially the "Chicago Bears", but the "Chicago Bears presented by Bank One" or something to that effect. The team actually sold out its own name, much to the consternation of just about everyone in the country as I recall.
