My wife has been having an extensive background check done to get a job for the last few weeks(3 weeks or more). Today she just got a letter from the place with a big packet to go to a lab place to give a sample for drug testing. I would assume that this would mean her hiring is very close. Which will be good cause we can't wait much longer for her job to start.

probably is- unless its a predecessor for them to conduct a second interview .

Actually, i spoke wrong in the first post. She already *has* the job pending the background check. I would assume that the urinalysis would be one of the final things they do in a background check.

Then, yes, it is probably very close.

Sounds like a good sign because, unless it is a government job, they probably would not want to incur any type of costs unless they were reasonably certain.

Right, drug/background checks can be pretty expensive, companies usually don't just toss them around.

Probably was not a good time for you to start a meth lab in your basement ;)

I recently took a job that involved an extensive background check, and they only did the UTOX after my background check came back "clean." So, it is probably a good sign for your wife :)

hey, stevew,

when i got hired for my current job it was dependent on passing the background check and drug screening.

so, it's her job. or should be.
