...check the front page for updates as to what is going on. This message board is on an entirely different server from the front page, so even if our board server had a complete crash, there is a very good chance that the front page would still be there. (This was the case over the weekend, and also during the board crash last November.)
As far as we can tell, this crash had nothing at all to do with our individual board. It appears that all message boards on the same server as ours were down. I was here at the time of the crash, and our board wasn't very busy at that time.
Also, everyone needs to know that we have an "alternate" location to continue discussions on my web site (www.benelou.com (http://www.benelou.com/)). Several of us were there talkin' college football yesterday. It might even be a good idea to bookmark the alternate board.
Finally, in case of a Gamespy-wide outage, check the Off-Topic boards at other busy text sim locations for info. I posted updates at .400, GDS and OOTP, as well as at IHOF and FOBL. The .400 and GDS folks even stickied the threads for me, and for that I thank them.
Sorry if anyone was inconvenienced, but as I said, I'm fairly certain this one was completely out of our hands from the get-go.
