And collect your award for Douchebag of the NFL.
Before this gets lost in the Browns victory over Washington, I want everyone to remember that mindboggling decision to fake FG at the end of the game. Cleveland was up by four and instead of kicking a FG and making it all but certain that the worst they could do was go into OT, they faked it!
It doesn't matter whether or not they made it, which they didn't. What in the hell was Davis thinking? His kicker has made eighteen straight. He got lucky that Coles dropped the ball. He gave Washington an opportunity to win with just over two minutes.
I knew he had all but dismantled the front office and is working hard to remove all talent from the roster, but I didn't realize how bad of an in game coach he was.

Didn't someone post on here with a question similar to this, while they were playing FOF? I think they had 4th and 3 at the 7 or something, and they were tied, with under a minute left. They ended up faking the field goal, and scored a TD.
Maybe that guy can step up and defend Butch Davis.

Wow, that is a horrid call. Maybe he thought if they missed that the Redskins would still have poor field position?

The worst thing is that they had the punter holding. Why not at least use a backup QB when you are calling a ridiculous fake FG?

The other team would know something is up if the oppositions regular holder, the punter, is not in on the play. If you're going to fake, your regular holder needs to be in the game.

I was watching that game with no sound and saw "Frost" running the fake FG and wondering when did Scott Frost get picked up by an NFL team?

This was my first thought exactly. I think it was Lionsfan or BigJohnLion guy or the Lionking or one of my fellow Lions fans.
It was a poll, he faked it, and scored the touchdown. I think the game was tied or something. Maybe Butch was trolling this board and thought it was a sound idea. I mean there is precedent for its success!

I understand that. I was aiming more for the point that the play had absolutely no chance of working. Just go for 3 and make it a 7 point game.
Butch was lucky that play didnt come back and bite them.

The Browns actually did pick him up at some point. I assume he's out of the league now?
