Well, the first real good thing to come out of the election is GRRM has decided "Losing myself in the world of Westeros would probably be the best medicine for what ails me just now, I know full well

I've decided I'm just going to wear black clothes and listen to more Rage Against the Machine. And hang out with Wignasty more.
Take that, The Man!

Why must he be such an angry young man, when his future looks quite bright to me?

You know these are strange days when Senator begins quoting Jason Tobias IV.

You do know that is actually Styx's lyrics, right?

Hey man, Styx was my first live concert back in the 1970s. Don't "this is actually Styx's lyrics" me. :p

Thanks for the update, Gal. Let's hope he gets writing. Hell, when the last book came out CLINTON was the freakin' president. I'm dyin' here!
I am not so glum as George R.R. is at the moment, but between that post, his early post where he mentioned he's a NFL draftnik, and the fact that he's written three of the best fantasy books I've ever had the pleasure of reading, seems a decent fella. Would go out for a pint with the man.

The exit polling makes it clear: this was a victory for bigotry and fear, a mandate bought with lies.
I love his books, but apparently don't agree with his politics. Too bad he and others have gone the extra mile, and determined that I'm a gullible bigot.

I was affected much the same way by his little essay. I don't begrudge the man the right to voice his opinion, but I think now I will voice my opinion by getting his book from the library instead of buying it in hardback the day it came out as I had originally planned.

How did you read the first three if the third isn't written? :)
4th book isn't out, the first three are. Leave it to the World Champion Mis-speller to nit-pick...:)

HAHAH.
First, anybody who's talked to me for, say, 5 minutes, probably knows my political beliefs. Considering I'm the one contemplating leaving the country due in PART to the election results, it goes without saying that GRRM's sentiments are well received on my end.
Second, keep track of updates of his stuff on his (POORLY DESIGNED) website, http://www.georgerrmartin.com
Third, in the meantime I've picked up Neal Stephenson..at first it was just the "easy" books Snow Crash, The Diamond Age, and then Zodiac. Then it was a thicker tome, Cryptonomicon. Now I've finished 1 of the 3 books of the Baroque Cycle (Quicksilver, The Confusion, The System of the World) and WOW are they addictive books. As soon as I finish Marla Streb's (pro mountain biker badass) autobiography, I'm going to pick back into The Confusion.
Hopefully I can get some more people into the NS light. :D
Not that there's anything wrong with GRRM, of course, other than the fact we're STILL waiting for book 4, AFFC.
