Ok, this is the end of a game from an MP league I am in. I am the Packers and I won, so I am not really complaining here but this is a little odd.

1-01-GBY01 (00:47) Penalty: TBY - False Start.

1-06-GBY06 (00:47) TBY 17 Harrington scrambled for 4 yards.
Tackled by GBY 42 Sharper.

2-02-GBY02 (00:31) TBY 17 Harrington spiked the ball to stop the clock.

3-02-GBY02 (00:27) TBY 17 Harrington scrambled for 1 yard.
Tackled by GBY 28 Thornton.

4-01-GBY01 (00:05) Penalty: TBY - Delay of Game.

4-06-GBY06 (00:05) TBY 17 Harrington pass completed to 85 Brown for 4 yards.
Tackled by GBY 56 Barnett.
The ball goes over on downs.

How did that delay of game get called?

How did that delay of game get called?

Clock must have been out and the ref got it wrong on his watch.

maybe someone kicked the ball? sure there were no timeouts in there?

does not say there was a time out. that is from the game log, so i assume there was not one. that was the first thing i thought of. I guess the kicking of the ball is reasonable, but that is usually when the defense does that i thought....

looks like another example of the AI not having good knowledge of football, stuff like this happens all the time.

ya, i figured it was just a flaw. but i wanted to see if anyone else could give a good reason before just writing it off as that

Injury (feigned or real) when out of timeouts - 10 seconds counted off the clock, five yard penalty, clock restarts on snap.

it doesnt mention an injury though

Since it was called on the offensive team, there should have been a :10 runoff, correct? Am I correct in saying Tampa should not have been able to run that final (inconsequential) play?

So let's call it a fake injury. 0:27 at the snap... 0:12 is a reasonable (probably overlong) amount of time for a Harrington run. So there's a 'fake' injury at 0:15, run 0:10 off the clock to 0:05 and start on the snap.

I'm more likely thinking there's an issue someplace, but figured this was as good an explanation as any. :-)

ok, i'll buy it I guess.

Oh, and this was a problem with the Tampa owner because if he scored and made the PAT, then he would have won the game. I was up by 6 points. Just noticed I never said that, and that is why we focused on this last series when we looked at the log.
