I'm having a splendid day right now. State waxed it's third straight opponent, EZU, 100-66 and Carolina is proving once again the media hype doesn't mean a thing...game one and they're already imploding, down 54-38 to Santa Clara.

Hopefully, the UNC loss is a product of not having any game experiecne with a point guard besides Felton.

The dude will have to rest during games, and UNC cannot fold when he's not on the floor.

If they can get someone else that can keep the team together when Felton has foul trouble or is resting, then hopefully this will just be an abberation.

If this loss is the sign of a deeper problem, or if they're really going to be this bad without Felton all year long... well then, it's going to be a very depressing winter.

Just curious - why exactly isn't GT the #1 team in the country in the preseason?

They return 5 or 6 of their top 8 scorers (I believe) from the #2 team last year. We have a freshman class in the top 25 in the country.

We have one of the top 3 or 4 point guards in the country, one of the better true centers around, and a legit swingman.

Just seems to me that they should get more respect until someone steps up and beats them...

I've got no problem with Chris Paul getting injured, since he plays for Wake Forest. :-D

I'm happy with the 5-ish ranking - there's an argument for preseason #1, but we did pull a handful of upsets to get the championship game, so I'm okay with that. Really, we're high enough that it's not going to make a difference - we're in the public eye, and we'll prove the rest of it on the court.
