It's not exactly the fans this time, but the players of both teams are going at each other.

Players need to control themselves. Yeesh.

Steelers - Browns
Pistons - Pacers

Wow. I have no room to talk as a Seminole fan but this shit needs to stay away from the sport. My goodness both teams play hard and should understand this is just a game!!

This is pretty ugly - police down there trying to get them apart, fighting keeps going. What can the NCAA do? Suspend players for the bowl games (USC and Clemson are both eligible, and I don't /think/ either have any regular season games left)? Can they actually keep the teams out of bowls?

I only saw a short clip, but I see a bunch of guys doing some version of the funky chicken instead of actually fighting. I love doofs that act like they wanna fight but in actuality just jump and down waving their arms, if you wanna fight go after someone, dont walk backwards while impersonating a dyeing bird.

Yeah... the full clip that I saw seemed like at least three or four minutes of fighting, with a bunch of different scrums going on. The chicken dance was near the end, but even after that there was some real fighting in the end zone.

And frickin Bowden says the players were inspired by the Pistions-Pacers game the night before because that is what has been all over the TV today. I didn't know 20 year old men could be so easily influenced to act like complete idiots.

Well, I watched the game, so here's the view right now.

Clemson D-lineman knock down the Carolina QB after he threw the ball, perfectly legal. Then one of the Clemson players on top of the USC QB throws about 3 punches at him while on the ground. USC players see this and come rushing at the player/off the bench. Then Clemson players storm the field. There were numerous fights and numerous punches that actually connected. The police eventually were able to break it up, but I did see a Carolina player hit his own coach. Needless to say, both teams were stupid, and I think at least half of each team should be suspended for the bowl game, thats how many people were throwing punches.

ALso, before the game Clemson runs down the hill and touches the Howard rock. They do this every game. However, as CLemson came down the hill, USC players were standing at the bottom waiting for them. Needless to say pushes were exchanged. COmpletely classless by USC. Whatever coaches allowed them to do that should be severely reprimanded. Things were heated during the game, but they eventually escalated with Carolina QB getting punched. He was helped off of the field after that because one of the Clemson players stepped right on his leg.

dola, and they should have called the game then (4:50 left in the game). It would have been the safe thing today, especially once both benches emptied.

An addendum, after each Clemson home game, fans are allowed on the field. Amazingly, they still let the fans on the field... completely stupid, as all kinds of shit could have happened.

I feel horrible that this is how Lou Holtz will remember his last game.

I only hope none of this week's NFL games has half this much violence.

Last week Pittsburgh and Cleveland started the ball rolling on violence in sports.
Followed by Indiana and Detroit, then South Carolina and Clemson.

It's a new week, hopefully nothing will continue this trend.

Saw on ESPN an interview of one of the Clemson players - he mentioned that they were just pulling a "Pistons-Pacers" on the field - he then laughed.

Really, the teams themselves have the power to end this crap - kick them out of school. Now, I know it'll never happen...too much $$$...that's why nothing will change until the public speaks with the almighty dollar.

As much of a reach as I thought Bowden's comment might be when I first heard it, the NBA incident was mentioned (as CraigSca references) by at least two Clemson players

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=243250228

"You saw it at the basketball game last night," Clemson quarterback Charlie Whitehurst said, referring to the brawl between the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers. "You hate that it happens, but it does sometime."

Clemson running back Yusef Kelly said the brawl doesn't compare with Friday night's melee at the Pistons-Pacers game.

"It's no worse than the Pacers and Pistons last night. They actually got the fans involved. At least we kept it to the football teams," he said.

Now I won't go so far as to say there's a cause-and-effect relationship here, but clearly the incident was at least planted firmly in some players subconscious.

I don't. I think it's about right, in fact.
