I'm just going to go ahead and make them all unlimited shareware. Release 3 adds a bunch of AI-related enhancements.
Download PureSim 2005 R3 Here (http://www.puresim.com/download2k5.aspx)
Enjoy!

Does the shareware license require payment for use? I know you say unlimited so there is no enforcement, but should I feel guilty for continuing to use it? Or is it pay if you feel like it?

No it doesn't require it, though I hope if you find the game enjoyable you will support it.
The point here is to let people really dig in and decide if PureSim is for them.

This is great!
Whats the catch, is Puresim 2005 in some way limited in any form? Is it an "old" version? Is this simply a lead on to another product in the spring? Even if it is, this is great!

Thanks Shaun!
There's no excuse not to at least give it a try if baseball sims interest you!

No catch. No limitations, play as many seasons as you want for as long as you want. I do show a nag screen on entry and exit but nothing more intrusive than that.
This is what they call a "leap of faith".

It is brand new and I'll continue to crank them out. I want FOFCers to dig in to this game :)

Cool, so its not working off the old engine? You started out with fresh code? Is this going to be a perminate shareware game :), or will you begin to charge for it again? Either way, if I like it, I'll buy!

Actually its based totally on PureSim 2004, just continuing to enhance it moving forward. But if you haven't played PureSim in the last 3 months I think it's worth a look.

If I manage to get a computer upgrade this winter, I'll definitely be plunking down the green, Shaun. Fear not. :D

I can say first hand great game. Shaun is a great guy as well.He really cares what fans think.I have been playing for the last 7- 8 months and definitely plan on paying for the 2005 full version now since it's only $19.99 if you buy now.The relaease candidates of course are free shareware but they don't include the full final version of the game.Plus I want to support Shaun's hardwork and dedication like HR over at FBCB/FBB this is not his full time job.

Thanks for the kind words.

Actually the shareware version is the full version of the game. It has everything.
Is there a baseball for dummies guide so that I can begin to look at your game knowing a little bit about all those stats ?

simply amazing.
I'll make sure to test that tonight because I wasn't able to launch the Freeware V2 last week...for some reason the game crashed when double clicking on it.
I'll give Shareware V3 a try and report if this is resolved.

Very daring stuff indeed, this marketing plan of yours, Shaun! It's inspired me to try something a little daring as well in the marketing direction on my own site.
By the way, very solid game as well. Good work. :)

Shaun,
I DL'd the previous beat version a week or so ago. Looks very promising and I am very impressed with what you have done. I haven't ever really checked it out but have always been aware of it.
Seems like some are jaded by past sim speed. I am no season at a time simmer, and as of yet have only gone a week at a time, but I can't see an issue with sim speed.
My only question, and it may not belong here, and for that I apologize, but is there a way to get full L/R split stats for players? I like to take something of a formula approach and reward the players that are performing with playing time and batting position. I would like to fully do that in my L/R splits based on BA, OBP, SLG, etc. Right now only BA is shown by split.
Finally, will this version allow you to import previous seasons? I love the seamless import of Lahman seasons by the way.
Thanks
Shucker
