I'm finally getting around to installing 5.1a on my home machine and I am getting the following error right after setup extracts the files.

C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

Anyone have any ideas?

I am receiving an error referring to a system file deemed unsuitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications (Autoexec.bat or Config.sys). What can I do?

Spyware and adware are becoming more and more dangerous, and likely to do serious damage to your operating system. In addition, operating system tweaks that are recommended to solve one problem often cause problems elsewhere. Windows XP still uses these system files, even though they're less important than they were in the past, and can be targeted by malicious programmers. Please visit Microsoft Support (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767) for a solution to this particular problem..

That thread was too big. Did you want me to read it all? ;)

Besides, I had trouble registering, so I just hit refresh a bunch to slow things down.

If we are both doing this, the federal government will wonder why 20% of the judicial bandwith is going to musclecars.net.
