Be careful with the bunsen burners.

But seriously, you can also sign a new player, and hope that they will become the leader at that position (I think as you're about to sign the guy, a window pops up saying he will be the leader at that position, and what the other players think of that). That can be hard, though, since I think age is a factor as to who's the leader, and veterans tend to be expensive.

I don't think it's age, I've always thought it was the one with the highest leadership rating.

The only time I experience conflicts is through the draft since either have to trace the birthdays back. I really wish that we could get the same dialog box to pop up during the draft. If I have a conflict between two players with high cap costs, I'll suffer through. If one of them is low, I send them to Siberia.

One or two conflicts don't seem to have a big effect.

I play with it on, but I hardly ever have conflicts so I don't know how it affects performance. At the most I've had two or three, never a severe conflict. I'm not sure if a severe conflict would have a greater effect. This could be a good test study for you to do.

I think it has a significant impact on team performance. I try to keep conflicts low, if there are more than 4 on a team, it is time to worry. If you have some affinities, that is great, and can really improve team performance.

there was a post somewhere that showed what signs you need for what

what i do is ignore it for the most part on starters

for backups in single player i only get affinity guys,

man, quik stole my work I did for FOF4 and dressed it up... stupid board switching making my work disappear, and now quik gets a link in the reference thread. First the kleenex quote is banished, now quik steals my work... i shall go cry :(

and i ignore chemistry. its on, but it doesn't make a difference to me, i still win when i don't call plays and lose when i do.

I was almost positive that on the Jets in the HFL, the leader of the O-line wasn't the highest leadership rating, and I attributed that to age. I could be wrong -- someone in the HFL with access to the game might be able to shed some light.

does the leader performance decline or the other player that has the conflict does?

No hard evidence, but my gut feeling is that it impacts the unit as a whole. For example, a conflict between your O-line leader and your backup C will have a negative effect on all O-line players. Same for affinities of course. And with QBs, this can have an even greater effect as they can interact with all leaders.
