Frankly, I would have put a period after 'season'. Then I would have started a completely new sentence starting with the word 'then'. Also, you should use a comma before the word baby since you are directing that statement to 'baby'.

Just my two cents.

Shouldn't it be "Often, I'm out of the hunt by this point of the season, although I have a good feeling about this year, baby!"?
