Still tied at 14, but there's just under 7 minutes left to play (apparently the "1 minute left" post I saw earlier failed to include the key phrase "in the 3rd quarter).

Meanwhile, we might be looking at our first co-champs since 1991, and only the 3rd such situation since 1978.

Yes, that's right ... all game in Georgia except the state championship have overtime. In the final, a tie is a tie.

That was an incredible finish ... and I was posting here getting updates from several people posting at www.gavsv.com ... I didn't have a dog in that fight, and I was sweating out the ending ... I can't really imagine what it must have been like in Hawkinsville to see all that.

Apparently penalties moved Clinch backwards for the longer than expected FG try.

Kendrick(Columbus) and Lakeside-DeKalb shared the AAA title in 1991
Valdosta & Griffin shared the AAAA in 1978 (7-7 final)
Avondale & Thomasville shared the AA title in 1958
