Virginia Tech at Miami (-6.5)
This should be a very good rivalry game. I think the Hokies upset the Hurricanes, 27-21.
USC (-20.5) at UCLA
Matt Lienart is the Heisman frontrunner and should shore up that prediction win a good performance today. I hoping for a Bruins win, but expecting a Trojan blowout, 31-14.
Tennessee vs Auburn (-13)
On paper, the Volunteers have the best shot saving the BCS. Not going to happen though, Tigers win 23-6 .
Colorado vs Oklahoma (-21)
The Buffs have been saying all week that they are going to pplay to win the Big XII. I think they come out fired up and will give the Sooners a good game.
Sooner should win 33-21.
California (-22.5) at Southern Miss
The Bears have an outside chance of going to the BCS game. They 'll need a win today and hope for two of the three undefeated teams to lose. Expect a Bears victory, 48-14.
Pittsburgh (-7) at South Florida
Pitt is playing for a BCS spot. If they lose, Syracuse (6-5) will get the bid making for interesting topic when they tweak the BCS next season. Pitt should win this one easily 24-10.
Virgina Tech vs. Miami
I think Miami should win this pretty easy... I wish I could go to the game but I guess not this year... 27-17 Miami
USC vs. UCLA
USC should win this easy as well because USC to me is the best team in college football with the dynamic Reggie Bush. 41-23 USC
Tennessee vs. Auburn
I guess I will have to go with history and say Tennessee upsets Auburn saving alot of controversy. 13-6 Tenn.
Colorado vs. Oklahoma
Can history repeat its self? Maybe not but should be interesting to me for two reasons this will be the second time I have watch OU play(Texas game the other) I am very interested to see if they play to set the tone for the National title game with USC... I think Bob Stoops takes these boys to the woodshed... 42-9
Cal should win
and South Florida in an upset!!

Outside chance? Last I checked they're still 4th in the BCS with Texas (in 5th) done. A win today should clinch the Rose Bowl Berth.

Most BCS "experts" think Texas would pass Cal if 2 of 3 teams ahead or 3 of 3 teams ahead of them lose.

Oh, ok. My bad.
No way USC loses today (unfortunately). Colorado maybe a prayer, but I don't see Auburn losing either w/ Tennessee down to their 3rd QB (and barely getting by Kentucky).

Well if 3/3 lose, it won't matter. Cal and Texas wouild be 1/2 or 2/1.

It depends on the pollsters, but at least Jerry Palm thinks it would be Texas vs. Oklahoma in the national title game. The computers don't like Cal. They wouldn't likely wouldn't pass any of the top 3 with a loss by one of them (or all of them).

Yeah, my assumption is that late losses typically impact the polls more (even though Ok beat Tx earlier and USC squeaked by Cal).
It'd definitely make it interesting w/ a lot of 1 loss teams. Still it'll never happen.

Was hoping for this thread today. :)
So, using duckman's template:
Virginia Tech at Miami (-6.5)
I have to go with Noop on this one. I think Miami's the better team and wins fairly comfortably, covering the spread. I'll say 33-17
USC (-20.5) at UCLA
I watched UCLA play this year only once, but they were not impressive in that game. I think they can score a little bit on USC, but their defense is pretty bad. Leinart has a big game, wraps up the Heisman, and the Trojans win 42-21.
Tennessee vs Auburn (-13)
I think this will be the best of the three undefeated teams' games. Tennessee will be fired up and will do a decent job, but in the end and facing yet another 3rd string quarterback, the Auburn defense keeps them undefeated. My guess - 27-17.
Colorado vs Oklahoma (-21)
Colorado has a solid rushing offense, but a horrid rushing defense. Purify will have a good game, and it'll be Peterson racking up the numbers rather than White. OU wins 35-10.
California (-22.5) at Southern Miss
This one's not a game. Cal knows they need a convincing win, and I think Rodgers gets it done. Big win for Cal - 49-14.
Pittsburgh (-7) at South Florida
Pitt's not a great team, but neither is SF. This one's ugly, but Pitt wins 31-21.

I didn't know you had only seen them once this year, Noop. I'd be really anxious to know what you think after this game. I think OU will win comfortably, but I have those butterflies in my stomach after what happened last year. Plus, Colorado will be fired up and has always played OU tough.

I have seen them more then once what I meant was I never watch an entire game of theirs...I have clicked in and out of there games when shown on tv...also Colorado has zero chance. Forget last year they will pick their beaten tonight... either load up the box and Jason White just goes over the top all game or play the pass and AD runs wild.

Oh okay. Well, I'd still like to know what you think after watching a whole game. I'm hoping they do really well and impress you so you can cut us OU fans some slack. I'm still hoping to turn you to the dark side. :D

ABC has lost the feed.
Miami blocked a VT punt and Gore took it in from the two. 7-7

Next possession: Randall (VT) fumbles and Miami has it on the 18
Hmm... one thing I will say is this Virgina Tech is alot better then I thought especially early in the season where they were pick to finish in the middle of the ACC.

Hmm... one thing I will say is this Virgina Tech is alot better then I thought especially early in the season where they were pick to finish in the middle of the ACC.Even us VT fans thought we'd be middle of the pack this year...we have a very, very young team. I gotta give it to Randall, though...apparently he's been a huge leader to the young guys on offense AND defense.
I feel great about the game now...it's close, but I think the defense has played great so far in not allowing Miami to sustain any long drives. And as long as Randall keeps throwing the ball the way he's been doing, we should be in good shape.

Unless there is one huge play, this looks like it will be a 16-10 finish. They're both really holding each other in check on defense.

I have gained alot of respect for Virgina Tech after this game. I am kinda sad we lost( both Florida State and Miami) but the ACC has a fine champion in Virgina Tech. Go ACC!!

I was really suprised by how poorly Miami played on offense today. Their defense did a great job at keeping the game close, but VT just kept pounding on them. A great win for Virginia Tech.
Also, I thought it was cool how they mentioned Curtis Justus from my hometown of Perry, OK. :)
What sucks is another Florida-Miami bowl matchup. ;)

Well if 3/3 lose, it won't matter. Cal and Texas wouild be 1/2 or 2/1.
Which would once again give us an example of how relying too heavily on human polls screws up the rankings for the national title race. If you're gonna lose once, make sure it's early.
Well I am 0 for 2 if I pick your team to win I suspect you might want to get nervous...

Unless, of course, you're in the Big-12, in which case you can lose your Conference Championship game and still play for the national title...

Hats off to the best damn pair of RB's in the nation & the rest of the Auburn nation.
And my respects to both Gerald Riggs, who had a helluva night, and Rick Clausen,
who acquitted himself well tonight under nearly impossible circumstances.
A bit of a clueless ending there though.
I'm happy for Auburn. Time to root for all the bowl bound SEC teams.

I dont think anyone (but me) cares but since Aubrun gave up more than 21 points this year that leaves 1 team that held all of their opponents to 21 or less points in each game. That team is Penn State. Too bad they didnt have a high school caliber offense to go with that defense. Oh well, at least their entire defense is back next year.
I dunno how to say this given my history with this topic... but Colorado is not a good team at all... in the same breath Auburn struggle a bit with a team down to its third string QB... USC struggled mightly...
I guess OU would get the vote based on the fact they beat up the team they were suppose too with Auburn being number two and USC 3... I guess the title game should be a good one with two great teams slugging it out...

So is it basically settled except for Cal and Texas? No way Auburn moves past #3 after the relative championship games. I guess they play VTech, with Cal or Texas playing in the Rose? Or if Texas gets the at-large will they have Auburn-Texas and VTech-Michigan?

i heard texas-michigan rose bowl, which would be a dream
ou is the best team out there. there is no denying it. they might not be what they were of late but they're better than anyone else. yes, the big 12 had a down year, but they haven't stuggled against a bad team like everyone else has. texas is a top 4 team, osu is pretty good, a&m can score, and all thsoe teams are in the top 25. the decision should come down between auburn and usc
I would love the BCS to match up the Big East and ACC champs this year. I think this would make an intriguing storyline and draw quite an audience, with the loyalist Panthers vs. the traitorous Hokies.
Plus, Pittsburgh has pwned VTech for the past few years!

Meanwhile, drama plays out as the last regular season game is in the fourth quarter with Michigan State holding a four-point lead at Hawaii. The Rainbows have a fourth-and-goal and could take their first lead.
There are 56 bowl slots, and with Tulane losing today, only 56 eligible teams so far. If Hawaii wins, that's 57 and they get the last bowl slot. If they lose, it goes to the lucky Akron Zips, 6-5 in the MAC and probably one of the ten worst teams in Division I-A.
Edge of my seat here. ESPN 2 has picked this one up.
Sarcasm aside for a moment here. Wouldn't everyone be better served if about half of these bowl games just went quietly away? We're also getting 6-5 Cincinnati against 6-5 Marshall in a bowl game this month.

How many bowl games were there in say...1988? I liked it so much better when there were 6 bowl games on New Years day with the (usualy) top 12 teams and then like 7 or 8 spread out over the rest of the christmas season. I miss the Bluebonnet Bowl :(
