Ok, so I bought my girls son an XBox, but it's the one that comes with Madden and Tennis and these are games that he will not play, so we decided that we would just remove the games (he wanted an XBox and Halo) and either keep them or resell them. The problem is that the box indicated that those 2 games come with it, so we need to put it in a regular XBox box, I've already asked a guy i know who works for circuit city and my friends are also on the hunt, but i figured i'd throw it out here as well, if anyone has a regular XBox box thats not ripped to shreds or knows where I could get one i'm all ears.

I actually see these for sale once and a while on ebay. I would try a game store like Gamestop or EB. The sometimes have empty boxes on their display models.

Crap, two weeks ago I finally gave in to my wife's nagging and let her get rid of the X-Box box. (peeks over shoulder to make sure she's not around ;) ) If I still had it, I would have gladly offered it to you.

I'm assuming this is a Christmas present, and you don't want the kids to know you bought the X-Box that came with the games? That's what I read, at least.

If so... have you considered hooking it up to the TV the night before, out of the box? No need for a box, then... and you can do something like giving them a game they want, wrapped. "Hey! You got me Madden... for the X-Box? We don't have an X-Box..."

I'd go with what Celeval suggested- I know I would have loved something like that.

Just take the game that comes with it, trade that in towards HALO(2 i would assume?). Then put halo 2 in the box and seal it up. Well, after he opens his presents, he will be all kind of dissapointed, maybe you get him some other games as well. Either that or you tell him you spent too much money playing online poker this month, and you will get him HALO2 when you get paid again :) Then he opens the box and sets it up, and thinking its just crappy NCAA(I think this is the game you get, not madde) and Tennis, but HALO 2 is in there. It would be a suprise on top of christmas.

I remember when my parents hooked up our Nintendo and our new TV for Christmas. It was the best gift ever.

I remember when the PS2 first came out and that was the only thing I wanted for christmas that year, and my mom was like the stores are all sold out, we've tried, but we'll get it for you for your birthday 5 months away. Christmas Day, open up a box and a PS2. Probably the best Christmas so far.

My parents did the whole hook up the system thing back when they got us an Atari 2600! Beat that ;)

My mom did the exact same thing when I wanted a Dreamcast for Christmas the year it came out:)

The whole world doesn't revolve around sports games. For instance, I'd say you can lop off a decent chunk of the population off the top as girls are rarely seen playing sports games (not that they make up a huge segment of the gaming population but they're there and the segment is growing).
