With the money I received from that match, I opened House Corax, the newest power in Thunderdome! You can build your own house, too. But, it may cost you your lives . . . You have two options, maggots. You can work in the salt mines for your entire lives, or you can take your chance at Thunderdome and your freedome. What will it be? Calaleus (Corax, 0-0) vs. Myrdrimor (Four Fingers, 0-0)

Rope, Chains, Axe, Chainsaw

Calaleus makes a mad dash for the axe and Myrdrimor heads straight for the chains. Myrdrimor gets picks the chains up in a flurry and begins swinging them about. He aims low but then swivels to change the line towards Calaleus' head! Calaleus attempts to block, but the chains whip around the shaft of the axe catching him full in the face. Blood flies from his face as a cut opens across Calaleus' nose and mouth. Calaleus stumbles slightly, but he regains his composure. With the chains wrapped around his axe shaft, he pulls at them in an attempt to disarm Myrdrimor. The chains fly across the dome rendering Myrdrimor weaponless.

Myrdrimor heads toward the chainsaw as Calaleus swings the heavy axe. Myrdrimor barely escapes the axehead and makes his way to the chainsaw. He gives the starter a tug . . . nothing! Mydrimor is still able to get the chainsaw up to block another heavy swing of the axe. Myrdrimor gives the starter another tug. The chainsaw, still won't start! Calaleus, still bleeding heavy from the face, swings upward towards, Myrdrimor's midsection . . . and connects! Mydrimor jumps backwards with the blow, but to no avail. A large gash is opened in Myrdrimor's abdomen.

Mydrimor, still backpedaling, gives the chainsaw another tug. It starts! Cheers come flying in from the crowd as the he revs up the engine. Still hurting from his stomach wound, he backs off and assumes a defensive posture. Both men stare each other down and swing at the same time! Calaleus comes with a mean overhead blow. It lands hard! On the chainsaw! Miraculously, Myrdrimor hangs on! If that blow had landed, it would have been the end of the fight!

Astounded for a moment that his blow was blocked, Calaleus backs off a little. Now Myrdrimor is the aggressor again. Calaleus, waits patiently tries to get a shot in before the chainsaw comes in from his right. A short poke, is good enough to land in the ribs of Mydrimor and stops his aggressive charge in its tracks. Mydrimor, crumples to his knees and grabs at the gaping chest wound that punctured his ribs.

{chanting} TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES! TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES!{/chanting}

The crowd can smell the end. With a cocky walk, Calaleus eggs on the crowd, raising his hands in the air and joining the chant. Myrdrimor can do nothing but gasp for breath. The chainsaw has died beside him. All that is left to do is make peace with his god. Standing over Myrdrimor, Calaleus makes the execution short and to the point. Myrdrimor's head falls to the dirt. Calaleus has survived his first match and is 1/10th of his way to his freedom.

I'll provide a little more background on the houses in a little bit.

[Raven Hawk]

House Corax - Founded by Raven Hawk who is a fair, but demanding owner. Won his freedom through fighting in Thunderdome. Each time you win, he can teach you a new weaponskill.

The House of Four Fingers - Founded by Four Fingered Flynn who is also won his way to freedom through Thunderdome. He is kindly and loyal. Each time you win, he will teach you how to better evade and parry attacks.

Bloodhaus - Founded by Demetrius Cavish, wealthy noble who has never fought in Thunderdome. He is brutish and will view you as a commodity. He will sell you on a whim if he deams it will make him a profit. Each time you win, he'll buy you a new piece of armor to wear during a fight, increasing your resistance to damage.

Pain Unlimited - Founded by Torbjorg Andreason, another veteran of Thunderdome. Torbjorg is a demanding overlord. He focuses training techniques. After every victory, Torbjorg will help you to increase your proficiency in one of four fighting styles: Normal, Aggressive, Defensive, or Misdirection.

Malice Unchained - Founded by The Rooster, one of the most successful Thunderdome fighters (he won his freedom back in the day when you had to win 15 fights to be free), the house is financed by an unknown investor. The Rooster will teach his fighters how to get the drop on their opponents by using their wits.

Now a little about this game. This is a simple little game that I've come up with that might be fun. The general rules are as follows:

1. Sign up as many times as you'd like. Only catch is that you can only have one character at a time.

2. This is a simple game based off of probability. Different things affect the probabilities, like weapon specialties, armor, technique training and defending.

3. The goal is to win your freedom. To win your freedom, you need to win 10 matches. Once you win your freedom, you can open your own stable. I haven't decided how I'm going to do that yet, but we'll find out if anybody ever gets there.

4. You can make your own challenges to other slaves, but they will be approved by your slave masters. If you don't make any challenges, your slave master will do that for you. You can only challenge somebody from a different stable. You can only have one challenge outstanding at a time.

5. I will try to run Thunderdome on a regular basis. Currently, I'm looking at Tuesday and Thursday around noon central time. I may not get to all challenges, but I'll keep the order posted in this thread so you know approximately when your match is coming up.

6. In the game, the challenger will always be considered the person with the worse record. If records are even, the person who submitted the challenge will be the challenger.

7. All slaves start out at rank 1. Each victory that they attain, they will gain another rank. Slaves may be sold between owners. The value for which they are sold depends on their rank. (This will become more important if you win your freedom and open your own stable, in which case, you may want to buy or sell fighters).

8. Each fighter will win prestige points based on each fight. You win 1 prestige point for each rank that you defeat. An owner may decline a challenge, but will lose prestige points equal to the number of ranks the challenger is below them. Example: John (Rank 3) challenges Fred (Rank 5). Fred doesn't like his chances against John, so he declines the challenge. In so doing, he loses 2 (5-3) prestige points. No prestige points are lost in declining a challenge from a higher ranked opponent. Declining a challenge of an equal ranked opponent carries a 2 prestige point penalty as crowds feel that it would be a fair fight. If you do not have any prestige points, you cannot decline the challenge and your House will accept the challenge for you. All fighters start out with 0 prestige points. Prestige points also determine how much of a "Freedom Bonus" you will receive if you win your freedom. The more prestige you have, the more money you will receive to start your own stable. Therefore a slave who wins 10 matches against rank 1 opponents, without declining any other challenges would have just enough $ to buy a 1 rank 1 fighter to start their stable. If you have less than 10 prestige points, you may need to start gambling some of your winnings, or fight "out of house" for money to purchase more fighters.

9. Players will no longer get to select their stables when they enter. Instead, they join the 'slave pool'. Every Friday an auction will be held and slaves will be purchased at that point by the houses that have enough money to buy them. Players can state a preference to their stable. However, that preference may not always be met depending on which houses have the money. After a slave is purchased by a house on Friday, they will be able to challenge a slave from another house for the following week's matches.

10. Each season will be 10 (5 weeks real time) weeks long, followed by an offseason where you will get to train. I haven't fully decided on how the training will work yet, but suffice to say, you can't train unless you've fought at some point during the season. Obviously if you're still alive, it means you've won at least one fight and you will get to train. You're training will not be limited to you're houses' specialty for this period. Current areas of training will include Strength (More Damage), Speed (Harder to Get Hit), Weapons (More effective at hitting, defending and hurting with said weapon), and Styles (Specialize and become more effective with a particular fighting style). I'm toying with a couple more ideas, but this is it for now.

The fight looks as though it will start on even footing as neither of the fighters are familiar with the use of the weapons placed in the ring. Both men head straight for the axe, but it is Ajtuck who gets there first. Ajtuck grabs, pivots and swings. He gets off a good attack, but the wary Godzillius is able draw Ajtuck make an ill advised attack. Godzillius evades! Godzillius heads straight for the chains.

Ajtuck is right on his tail and swings wildly as Godzillius picks up the chains. Once again, Godzillius is the smarter fighter and evades the clumsy swing. This time Godzillius retaliates with swing fot the chains. He connects! That probably broke a few ribs on Ajtuck. This seams to piss of Ajtuck even more and Ajtuck swings the heavy axe with fervor. Godzillius once again out-manuevers the blade as it passes only inches from his neck. The movement of his evasion has put Godzillius out of position and he can't retaliate.

The two men square off in the center of the arena and stare each other down. Ajtuck winces a little from his broken rib. Ajtuck, charges Godzillius again and both of them get off swings as they come into range. Ajtucks axe slices across Godzillius' arm for a superficial wound. The cut stops Godzillius arm and he can't connect with his chains.

Godzillius remembers a little bit of his training and comes back with quick attack. He scores a hit to Ajtuck's leg. It was a decent blow, but it didn't succeed in getting Ajtuck to hold his attack. Regardless, though Ajtuck's axe swing flies harmlessly over Godzillius' head. Godzillius is in excellent position now. He taunts Ajtuck into throwing a chop from the right, evades and steps behind Ajtuck with the chains. Grabbing both ends of the chains he wraps them around Ajtuck's tightens them and drags Ajtuck to the ground!

TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES! TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES!

Godzillius gives the chains a final tug and Ajtuck exhales his final breath.

Godzillius has reached Rank 2 and earned 1 prestige point. In addition, Demetrius Cavish has presented his winning fighter with shoulder armor. Bloodhaus receives the $8000 purse.

Thickthumbs the Violent Tempered (Rank 1, Pain Unlimited) vs. Rizarro (Rank 1, The House of Four Fingers)

Another fight starting on equal footing as neither of the fighters is familiar with any of the weapons randomly selected for the fight. Both men seem to be in good fighting condition before the fight, pacing the arena anxiously. The host gives the signal for the match to begin!

Thickthumbs sprints toward the Spiked Club and Rizarro towards the Machete. Both men aggressively attack their foes. Rizarro slashes left to right with a mighty swing and connects with Thickthumbs hair! An excellent buzz-cut by the barber! With a heavy gasp, Thickthumbs backs off and doesn't swing as he realizes that he almost just lost his head.

Rizarro follows in with another cut, this time left to right. This time Rizarro stumbles a little causing his blade shrink back out of range as he tries to maintain his balance. Thickthumbs takes advantage of the moment and casts his Spiked Club at the stumbling Rizarro. Holy bejesus! Thickthumbs connects hard with the torso of Rizarro, knocking the wind, and some blood, out of Rizarro. Rizarro drops to a knee clutching his stomach with his off hand.

Thickthumbs raises the Spiked Club over his head to maul Rizarro's skull and finish him off. Rizarro adeptly rolls out of the way and gets back to his feet! He's got something left, yet! And he's charging Thickthumbs! He swings, but Thickthumbs parries with his club, almost losing his grip, but holds on! Readjusting his grip, he swings back. Nothing doing, his swing goes wide.

Thickthumbs assumes a defensive stance. Rizarro attempts a feint with the machete, faking high and striking low. Despite a partial block, Rizarro lands the machete on Thickthumbs' thigh, opening a 4 inch long gash on Thickthumbs leg. Thickthumbs stumbles and cannot return a blow. Both men are tired and bleeding from heavy wounds.

Having previous success with the move, Rizarro decides to feint again. This time he double feints adding on to his previous maneuver going high, then low, then high again for the strike. It works, but only marginally. The machete opens a small cut on Thickthumbs shoulder. Thickthumbs retaliates, but over commits himself to the blow, missing wildly to the left. Rizarro doesn't hesitate and takes advantage of the situation. Pivoting and striking down on the stumbling Thickthumbs, Rizarro drives the machete blade deep into Thickthumbs skull. The sound of the cracking skull reverberates through the arena. A hush comes over the crowd as they all breathe in at the same time. Thickthumbs, body falls lifeless to the dirt below. The crowd erupts in a frenzy!

TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES! TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES!

Rizarro falls to his knees grasping this the punctures and bruising on his right side. The world is spinning and Rizarro colapses. Four Fingered Flynn sends in his medical staff to attend to Rizarro's wound. After examining the motionless body, the head physician gives a thumbs up to the crowd. The crowd erupts again!

Rizarro rises to Rank 2, but will be in the hospital for awhile recovering from his injuries. Doctors expect him to be out for two weeks as the punctures apparently missed any vital organs. Rizarro can return to Thunderdome earlier if he choses, but will definitly be at a disadvantage. He should be fully healed by the time the 12/16 matches are run. Four Fingered Flynn wins the $8000 purse and will teach Rizarro how to better defend himself for his next match.

Edit: Rizarro also earns 1 prestige point.

Entry fees and purses on all these fights are set at $1000 and $12000 respectively. It seems as though Thunderdome attendance is on the rise. More spectators means more prize money from concession sales. Four Fingered Flynn has a lot at stake this week. He may need to come back and prize fight to keep his house alive if he can't win a couple this week. I'm going to go ahead and set an arbitrary limit on 7 fights per 'week.' If you don't get on this Thursday's card, there's always next Tuesday.

Theorhetically, I can't cap the number of participants as the game requires a consistent supply of fodder. If anybody is going to make it to their tenth victory . . . that means that 10 participants will have to die.

The sun peaked over the horizon signalling the new day had begun. In houses across town people were waking up to the fresh smell of coffee. Others weren't. In fact there were fourteen men in town that didn't get a minute of sleep. Some paced in their cells, other lay in their beds staring up at the ceiling. Today was they're day. It wouldn't be a good day to die.

Godzillius Blitz awoke, and strode over to Split Peon the First. Split Peon had been arguing with himself alnight about whether or not he should return to the salt mines. A dried out human tongue hung around Godzillius' neck and briefly hung out over Split's face as Godzillius bent over to sit down next to his cell mate.

"Having second thoughts are you?" asked Gozillius in a calm tone. The question was reduntant, but the silence had to be broken. Godzillius continued with the small talk, but realized that Split just wasn't in the mood.

"Fine," Godzillius said, "But just remember, if you bring your doubt to the thunderdome with you, there's NO doubt you'll get yourself killed."

Across town similar conversations were going on. In House Corax, Calaleus was giving last minute tips to Jeeberus Dee. The instructions were pointless. Most of these men had been warriors at some time or other and became slaves through capture. Melee was still foreign to most of them, since the high-powered rifle made such weapons obsolete. Yet, freedom was their goal, and to attain it, they had to risk their lives.

Fans of the bloodsport would tell you that fights between Rank 1 slaves are the best. Nobody really knows what they are doing, and the survival instinct is apparent on everybody's face. As the slaves get more fights under their belts, they become numb to the pressure and are more willing to accept their fate. Fights between highly ranked opponents are fun, but they are rarely messy. Rank 1 slaves often lose limbs and entrails. Rank 9 slaves can put their opponents out of their misery with one fell strike. Yes, rank 1 fights, those are the spectator favorites.

Today, the spectators will not be disappointed. Today, there is a record seven Rank 1 fights. No, the big bank and high profile celebrities will not be there. But the pure fans of the sport will come in droves to catch a glimpse of the shooting star. Women will annoy their husbands by placing bets according to how a fighter's name sounds or what color he is waring. Children will flock to the paddocks to get an autograph or two of a fighter who could some day become a superstar. Superstars like Torbjorg, Four Fingered Flynn, Raven Hawk and The Rooster. These were the elite. These men are heroes.

Such a grand spectacle Sunday's at Thunderdome had become. Today tickets are plentiful and the price is low. But on the day of a big fight, you can be sure that tickets are hard to come by. The best seats in the house can fetch scalped prices upwards of $300. The eight week season is short, but brutal. Fighters who can make it through one season of the carnage are revered as gods among men.

Yet, gods they are not. Today, at noon, these men will face their fears. Seven will live. Seven will die. Once a fighter is inside the Thunderdome, only one rule applies:

TWO MEN ENTER. ONE MAN LEAVES.

Freedom. Is it worth risking your life? Today fourteen men say that it is. Seven will pay and seven will escape the reaper for another week. Who will that be? Tune in today at noon (CST) for THUNDERDOME!

As is common with the lower level fights, this one is on equal footing as well, as neither man has experience with the weapons selected for the fight. The host takes his seat in the balcony and gives the command to begin!

Both fighters sprint towards their weapons. It looks like we will see a classic duel this evening as each makes a mad dash for opposite longswords. DeToxusRoxus makes an attempt at misdirection, swinging toward the head, then adjusting to swing at Hokius' sword arm. Hokius is not fooled. He's all over DeToxusRoxus as he adapts to the fighting style. Hokius attemps to interupt DeToxusRoxus' attack! Hokius thrusts towards DeToxusRoxus' head! DeToxRox escapes a skewered skull by falling hard to the ground to avoid the blow! DeToxusRoxus rolls to safety and thanks whatever gods he believes in. Hokius is dumbfounded. That one shot should have ended the fight!

The fighters circle for a little then they engage. DeToxusRoxus looks out of form and Hokius tries to take advantage and swings at DeToxusRoxus' sword arm. DeToxusRoxus easily evades and returns a blow that is parried by Hokius. Hokius still has the upper hand and tries for DeToxusRoxus' legs. With a low swing, Hokius catches some dirt with the tip of the blade and loses control of the longsword. It's on the ground! DeToxusRoxus steps between Hokius and the loose blade and takes a swing. Hokius barely avoids it by rolling out of the way.

Hokius finds himself only feet from the chainsaw. He decides to go for it! DeToxusRoxus swings at his retreating foe and barely hits Hokius in the back with a heavy swing. A small wound is opened. Hokius barely seems to notice. Hokius gives a tug on the chainsaw starter and the motor starts purring. DeToxusRoxus takes the moment to swing his longsword at Hokius, but to no avail. Hokius takes a horizontal swing with the chainsaw. DeToxusRoxus easily blocks.

Hokius attempts to bait DeToxusRoxus into swinging high by opening his defense, but DeToxusRoxus is wary enough not to take the bait and checks his swing. With a sly grin, Hokius jabs the tip of the chainsaw toward DeToxusRoxus. DeToxusRoxus parries it wide of his body and closes the gap, punching at Hokius with the hilt of his sword. His hilt lands, but with little force. Hokius twists and tries to bring his chainsaw toward DeToxusRoxus' midsection.

With DeToxusRoxus' weapon high, Hokius carves deep into DeToxusRoxus' flesh. DeToxusRoxus does what he can to pull away from the chainsaw, But the pain is too great. Instead, he changes grip and attempts to stab the length of the sword through Hokius. The pain is still too great and DeToxusRoxus drops his sword. Hokius continues carving the chainsaw into DeToxusRoxus. DeToxusRoxus goes limp. Hokius continues the cut and soon DeToxusRoxus is half the man he once was.

TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES! TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES!

DeToxusRoxus' torso falls to the ground and splashes in a puddle of his own blood, he waist and legs topple over after it. Hokius Maximus raises the chainsaw to the sky and gives it a couple of revs. Splattered with blood, Hokius looks like at maniacal butcher proudly staring down at his work.

Hokius Maximus is now Rank 2 and receives 1 prestige point. His wounds are superficial, so he won't miss any time if he doesn't want to. Raven Hawk receives the $12,000 purse and offers to teach Hokius a weapon style of his choice.

Coffee Warlord (Rank 1, Bloodhaus) vs. Qwikshot (Rank 1, The House of Four Fingers)

Weapons: Warhammer, Knife, Spiked Club, Machete

As the men enter the Thunderdome, both men greedily eye the machete. Each man knows that the machete is the key match. Qwikshot is proficient with it, Coffee Warlord is not. However, Coffee Warlord will have to get control of it to have any chance in the fight. Walking around the ring, buck naked as the day he was born, Coffee Warlord hopes that Qwikshot has a severe phobia of male organs. The host steps up to the microphone and the fighters walk to their corners . . . "BEGIN!" The two men make a mad dash for the machete . . .

You'd think Coffee Warlord had an afterburner installed in his ass as he comes roaring out of the corner and gets to the machete first. It must have been because he wasn't burdened down with a sweat soaked loin cloth. Coffee Warlord picks the weapon up and swings hard at Qwikshot who aborted his route in favor of the spiked club. Qwikshot is able to evade, but that spiked club isn't close enough for his liking. Coffee Warlord swings again . . .

Qwikshot is able to squirm away from the blade and get to the spiked club. Coffee Warlord tries to get in another shot before Qwikshot can bring the spiked club up in defense. Coffee Warlord connects, but Qwikshot manages a partial block, leaving him with a small laceration on his forearm. Qwikshot retaliates, but can't penetrate Coffee Warlord's defense.

Still with the upper hand, Coffee Warlord swings toward Qwikshot's collarbone. Qwikshot grabs the shaft of the spiked club with both hands raising it to meet the machete and partially blocks again. The machete blade trails off the shaft of the club and opens a small wound on Qwikshot's chest. Qwikshot sends a shot in at Coffee Warlord, but Qwikshot is distracted by the sight of Coffee Warlord's twig and berries. His shot goes wide. Coffee Warlord returns the blow with an overhead shot. Strangely Qwikshot steps into the blow . . .

Qwikshot raises his weapon to block the machete high and hits Coffee Warlord's wrist with the shaft of his weapon, halting the motion of the wrist but not the machete. The machete continues on its path, flying over Qwikshot's left shoulder. Qwikshot quickly changes his grip and attemps to return the overhead blow. Coffee Warlord raises his hands and is able block the swing high. Both men now have a hand on Qwikshot's spiked club . . . oh my! :eek:

Qwikshot pulls away and manages to regain control of the spiked club. Meanwhile, Coffee Warlord looks around for another weapon. Much to Qwikshot's chagrin, Coffee Warlord is standing two feet away from the warhammer. Coffee Warlord grabs for it. Enjoying the fact that Coffee Warlord is weaponless, Qwikshot swings at Coffee Warlord's grabby hands . . .

Qwikshot connects! With the Warhammer, not Coffee Warlord's hands, resulting in the destruction of both weapons. Both men stare at each other in disbelief, then as if on cue, they both turn their heads toward the machete which is only 10 feet away, lying on the ground. Qwikshot breaks for it!

[Raven Hawk]

Coffee Warlord will have none of that and tackles Qwikshot to the ground. A pummelling match ensues. Qwikshot misses with a hammer punch, and blocks an incoming elbow from Coffee Warlord. Qwikshot, lying on his back with Coffee Warlord on top of him, reaches up to grab Coffee Warlord behind the neck and pulls Coffee Warlord's head toward's his own. The resulting headbutt breaks Coffee Warlord's nose and Qwikshot squirms free to pursue the machete.

Things have gone from bad to worse for Coffee Warlord as his vision is blurred and he can't make out Qwikshot well enough to grab him. Qwikshot makes it over to the machete and picks it up. Using the only tactic he can think of, Coffee Warlord takes off in the other direction waiting for his vision to clear. Qwikshot sprints after him, machete in hand.

Coffee Warlord's vision has officially cleared up in time for him to see a machete swinging at his head. Coffee Warlord ducks and sticks his left arm out in sacrifice to slow the blow. The machete does its business on Coffee Warlord's left arm cleaving the skin and breaking the bone. Coffee Warlord's left arm is dangling by a thread of skin, severed two inches below the elbow. Oh, the humanity! Coffee Warlord sinks back into the corner of the stadium and waits for death to come . . . and Qwikshot delivers it in the form of decapitation. Coffee Warlord has exited this world the same way he came in: buck naked.

Qwikshot has promoted to Rank 2 and receives 1 prestige point. Four Fingered Flynn collects the $12,000 purse. Qwikshot, barely wounded will be clear to fight again at his own leisure. Flynn trains Qwikshot how to better defend himself from naked male aggressors.

Outside the arena in the paddocks, wealthy nobles look at the two fighters as they are walked back and forth on a platform. People are taking dubious notes on programs as they turn and walk to the betting window. One man wrote down: "JAGus - good form, The Hunter - Brute. Bet The Hunter and pray there is no chainsaw in the ring." JAGus is lead into the ring first and sneers as he spots a piece of good luck for him. A chainsaw. The Hunter, having studied his prey, also spots the chainsaw and knows it will be the main point of contention. The honorary host for this match is: Woody Harrelson. Woody steps up to the mic as the men make their way back to their corners. "Begin!" Both men break for the chainsaw.

The Hunter trips over his own feet and splays himself at the foot of JAGus. JAGus picks up the chainsaw and gives the starter cord a tug. The sound is music to his ears. JAGus can't believe his luck. A chainsaw in one hand and an opponent layed out at his feet. JAGus revs the chainsaw and drops the blade toward The Hunter's head . . .

The Hunter quickly rolls out of the way of the chainsaw blade, but is still weaponless. He spots a longsword not too far away and attempts to get to his feet. JAGus, takes a quick mental note to aim for the torso, or put a foot on top of a felled opponent before swinging. After his brief reflection he swings the chainsaw down on The Hunter, but stops the swing mid swing and punches it in toward The Hunter's torso. The Hunter is wise to the attack, regains his feet and heads toward the longsword.

JAGus swings again at the running brute, but the The Hunter is too swift. The Hunter reaches the longsword and grabs for the handle. In tow, JAGus follows with another swing as The Hunter attempts to bring the sword to a ready position. The Hunter fumbles the sword for a moment and can't get it readied. JAGus can't capitalize as The Hunter's swift moves allow him to dodge. JAGus takes another swing, this time from the side attempting to nullify The Hunter's grace . . .

And lands a heavy blow in the hunter's side. Ribs crack and blood flows The Hunter grabs for his chest to ease the pain. The smile on JAGus' face is too much for The Hunter to take. He grits his teeth and stabs with the longsword. JAGus wasn't quite expecting a thrust to the stomach and The Hunter lands his first hit. The blade goes in deep and is covered in blood when The Hunter pulls it out.

Both men fall to one knee clutching at their wounds. JAGus takes a deep breath and throws a wild swing with the chainsaw, barely missing The Hunter's arm. The Hunter returns a blow, but JAGus uses his proficiency with the chainsaw to block the blow. This block leads right into a trained combinatio nfor JAGus and he becomes the aggressor.

RIGHT! LEFT! RIGHT! Three hits in succession. The Hunter manages to partially block the first hit, but the second hit scores a slash his left shouler and the third hit scores a deep cut on his right shoulder breaking the collarbone and loging deep into his body. He drops his sword and the motion of his fall rips the chainsaw out of JAGus' hand. The Hunter lies prone with an idling chainsaw sticking out of his right shoulder. JAGus picks up the longsword with a reverse grip . . .

TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES! TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES!

JAGus' plunges the sword deep into The Hunter's heart and slays him.

JAGus "mAd" MAXimus has achieved Rank 2 and gained 1 prestige point. Pain Unlimited scores its first win and Torbjorn collects the $12,000 purse. JAGus will be out with an abdominal injury for two weeks and won't be able to fight until 12/21, without penalty. Torbjorn will refine a fighting technique of JAGus' choice (Normal, Defensive, Aggressive, Misdirection)

Jeeberus Dee walks out onto the paddocks and all you can hear are guffaws and laughter. "Good luck, wimp!" and other not so pleasant calls can be heard from the gallery. When MC² walks out, oohs and aahs passover the crowd and people head directly for the betting windows. The men are led to the arena and Jeeberus Dee's heart sinks a little when he sees an axe in the ring and no machete. The host takes the microphone and calls out the start, "BEGIN!" Both men race hard at the axe . . .

Stunningly, Jeeberus gets to the axe first and fast enough (he isn't carrying around all that excess muscle) that he catches MC² by surprise with an opening attack. The axe hisses as it cuts through the air. Luckily, MC² is able to maneuver out of the way and the axe grazes his right thigh. Still in a predicament, MC² reaches for the spiked club which was conveniently placed next to the axe. MC² picks up the spiked club and readies himself in a defensive positon.

Jeeberus strikes down at an angle with the axe, and grazes the skin of his opponent on his left arm. More superficial damage. Jeeberus seems to be out of nickels and dimes and is trying to penny MC² to death. MC² retaliates with a hard strike to the Jeeberus' left side. MC² crushes Jeeberus' left arm into the side of his body and pins it there with the spikes on the club.

Jeeberus loses control of the axe and it falls to the ground. Jeeberus coughs up a little blood then drops to his knees, spitting blood as he kneels before MC². The spikes punctured through Jeeberus' arm and into his lungs. MC² leaves the club head stuck in his opponent and bends over to pick up the axe.

TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES! TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVES!

In moments it is over and Jeeberus' headless corpse collapses to the ground. MC² throws the axe to the ground and exits the arena having barely broken a sweat.

MC² is promoted to Rank 2 and receives 1 prestige point. Four Fingered Flynn collects the $12,000 purse and will teach MC² how to better defend himself for his next match. MC² sustained no meaningful injuries and can fight next week.

Walking to the paddocks, an astute observer will note that Split Peon is in slightly better form than HellAntic. However, the advantage will quickly shift if HellAntic can get his hands on that machete. Both men head to their corners and the host calls for the match to start. "BEGIN!" Both men dart for the machete.

And Split Peon gets there first. Taking up the weapon, he holds it ready to strike as HellAntic heads for the spiked club. Split Peon swings at the running HellAntic and misses, but forces HellAntic back towards a warhammer by cutting off HellAntic's angle to the spiked club. Split Peon strikes again grazing HellAntic's shoulder. HellAntic makes it over to one of the warhammers.

Split Peon is going to get another shot in before HellAntic can pick up the warhammer. He swings low and nicks the dodging HellAntic's leg. Another scratch. Both men are winding up for heavy swings. But it is HellAntic who brings the hammer down first. HellAntic's blow falls on Split Peon's left shoulder and disrupts his swing. Split Peon feels his left arm go numb.

Split Peon rages and swings wildly at HellAntic, but HellAntic is well prepared and turns Split Peon's rage into his own opportunity. Ducking low to avoid Split Peons cut, HellAntic catches Split Peon's foot in the crook of his hammer and pulls. Split Peon goes down hard on his bad arm and winces.

Split Peon, rolls over and regains his feet. But, HellAntic is waiting with another heavy swing. Another desperate maneuver from Split Peon allows him to duck the hammer, tuck and roll, ending up in a standing postion right behind HellAntic. HellAntic is baffled and spins on his heel, but Split Peon turns with HellAntic to stay on his back and swing the machete.

He connects, but once again is only able to open a small cut on HellAntics back. HellAntic, quickly spins the other way with the force of his hammer to try to catch Split Peon on the other side. Instead, he trips over his own feet and goes to the ground. Split Peon swings at the prone HellAntic . . .

But HellAntic is able to block with the shaft of his hammer and roll out of the way. Split Peon throws a shot at HellAntic's exposed legs. Mid-swing he switches his target to HellAntic's arm, but can't connect. But his ploy worked as HellAntic shifted his hammer down to block a shot at his legs. Now his head and torso are exposed! Split Peon attacks aggressively!

And he lands a mighty blow to HellAntic's chest. The machete carves deep into HellAntic's ribs and lungs. I think he got a fatal shot to the spleen!

HellAntic fights through the pain and the choking on his own blood, using the warhammer to support his weight. He bows his head down in submission to Split Peon and allows Split Peon to lineup his shot. Moments later, HellAntic's head rolls to the ground.

Split Peon the First is now Rank 2 and has earned 1 prestige point. Demetrius Cavish comes to collect the $12,000 purse. After a physical examination, it is ruled that Split Peon will need 2 weeks of rest to fully heal his smashed shoulder (12/16 next possible fight without penalties). In addition, Demetrius presents Split Peon with a piece of shoulder armor, making light of how it is "better late than never."

The Chief (Rank 1, Pain Unlimited) vs. Sinister Vibes (Rank 1, Bloodhaus)

Weapons: Axe, Claymore, Warhammer, Rapier

The main event features The Chief vs. Sinister Vibes. Both men are in superb shape, with neither showing a heavy advantage. There is rumor that Demetrius Cavish has bribed officials into placing an axe in the ring and ensuring that there would be no chainsaw. These, by all means, are rumors and we wouldn't want to spread them. The odds are set straight up on the two opponents. When they enter the ring, a coy smile tells you that Sinister Vibes is happy with the weapon selection. The Chief is unmoved, showing no emotion whatsoever. Woody Harrelson comes back out to start the fight. "BEGIN!" Both men dash toward the axe.

The Chief gets to the axe and Sinister changes direction to grab the claymore. Now it is The Chief that is grinning as he picks up the axe and pokes the barbed head at his opponent. The strike misses and Sinister reaches the Claymore. Sinister picks up the claymore and readies it to fight. The Chief follows Sinister into the corner cautiously and strikes at an opportune time. The axe opens a good sized cut on Sinister's chest. Sinister winces slightly, but takes the hit.

The Chief, still with the upper hand, doubles back on his swing and tries to open another chest wound. His strike finds its way through Sinister's defense, but only succeeds in aggravating the first wound slightly. Sinister retaliates with the heavy claymore, and opens a small wound on The Chief's right arm.

The two opponents just stand face to face and exchange blows. These two fighters don't know much about maneuvering. The Chief swings again, hitting. He finds a hole in Sinister's defense, opening another cut on Sinister's chest. This one big enough to drop Sinister to his knees in pain.

Sinister drops the claymore and clutches his chest. The Chief lines up his shot with Sinisters neck and swings. Sinister ducks and avoids the blow!

This maneuver only succeeds in pissing off The Chief, as he buries buries the axe in Sinister's chest to end the fight. Sinister's Vibes have expired. The Chief points up to Demetrius Cavish's box holding up the axe and yells, "Thanks, Prick!"

The Chief moves to Rank 2 and receives 1 prestige point. Torbjorg picks up the $12,000 purse and offers to train The Chief further in one of the fighting styles: Aggressive, Defensive, Misdirection, and Normal.

The discussion around the paddocks is whether or not there will be a rapier or two in the fight. Both men look to be in decent form, and both are touted as rapier specialists. The betting windows close at 1:1. Prior to the match, cellmates The Chief and Fattoe exchange some friendly words in the tunnel. The men enter the arena and head to their corners. They both know that the man who gets the rapier wins the fight. The host grabs the microphone . . . "BEGIN!" Both men charge hard at the rapier . . .

And Fattoe gets there first, but Gaius isn't willing to give the weapon up that easily and grabs at Fattoe's sword arm. Fattoe remains vigilant in his grip on the rapier as the two lock up at close range. Fattoe attempts to free his arm from Gaius' vice-like grip and succeeds in pulling away and opening some distance between the two. In trouble now, Gaius heads for the nearest weapon, which is the knife.

Gaius covers the ground quickly and gets over to the knife in time to assume a defensive position before Fattoe can attack. Fattoe humors Gaius and playfully stabs at him with the rapier. Gaius parries, as expected.

Fattoe settles into a fencing stance and gets a little more serious. He slashes low. The knife just doesn't have the range to block and the rapier cuts through Gaius' leg like butter. Gaius crumples under his own weight and goes to the ground. Fattoe stands just out of dagger's reach and begins carving letters into his opponents chest. "I-W-I-N" In moments Gaius will expire due to a severed artery in his leg.

Making a last ditch effort to save his life, Gaius hurls the knife at Fattoe. The knife heads straight for Fattoe's face . . . at the last moment, Fattoe parries the knife harmlessly to the side. Fattoe, goes over to where the knife was dropped and picks it up. He comes back and begins using it to pick his nails. He pulls up a seat on the center stone and begins whistling as he studies the fingernail dirt that is now on the end of the knife. Silently, Gaius breathes his last breath. Fattoe walks back over to Gaius' dead body and proceeds to cut his middle finger off. With finger in hand, Fattoe strolls over toward Demetrius Cavish's box seat and gives him the finger. Literally.

Fattoe the Smashifier is now Rank 2 and receives 1 prestige point. Torbjorg collects the $12,000 purse and offers help Fattoe refine the fighting style of his choice. Fattoe is uninjured and can fight when he next desires to.

This maneuver only succeeds in pissing off The Chief, as he buries buries the axe in Sinister's chest to end the fight. Sinister's Vibes have expired. The Chief points up to Demetrius Cavish's box holding up the axe and yells, "Thanks, Prick!"

The Chief moves to Rank 2 and receives 1 prestige point. Torbjorg picks up the $12,000 purse and offers to train The Chief further in one of the fighting styles: Aggressive, Defensive, Misdirection, and Normal.

I would honor Sinister Vibes' death, but he barely tested me, not surprisingly. It will not be long before I own this slave ring.

I will take Misdirection, as it seems fleet of foot I am not, so best to convince my opponent I am elsewhere when he swings his weapon.

You should take that as bad. However, there is very little variation in Rank 1 fighters, so it's not really bad. On the bright side, you're more likely to be purchased.

News

My sources inside the slave trade industry have informed me that another house has entered the fray. According to this reliable source, the purchaser for the new house was none other than The Rooster, a legend of his day.

For those of you who don't remember The Rooster, he operated the house "Malice Unchained" for five years after he won his freedom. Eventually he went bust. Although he was a good fighter, he was not a good businessman. Malice Unchained has not been in operation in over three years. The Rooster became our favorite celebrity to laugh at. He was often a subject of the "Whatever happened to . . ." question.

Last we heard, The Rooster was a drunk with no money to his name. Where he came into the money to re-open his stable, nobody knows. One thing we do know for sure, that man knew how to fight.

Torbjorg went almost broke buying everybody last week. If Pain Unlimited would have lost a couple fighters last week, Mr. Torbjorg would have had to resort to prize fighting to get some more money for stable operations.

In addition, with so many good fighters, he has to make sure that he has enough money to pay entry fees for upcoming matches. ;)
