Empty Cupboard - and a detailed explanation

etc.

I tried the Empty Cupboard last night and I thought the point of it was to not only start with a completely fresh new squad but to also be in a poor financial situation (from all the contract cutting). I cut, but I wasn't really in a bad financial situation, so I could have signed alot of GOOD players, I ended up signing alot of rookies for the fun of it.

I was using 5.1a with the new fictional player option.

I am just asking if there is a master thread with all the different ways of playing with explanations and then maybe that could get stickied...

just a thought.

i think your playing it incorrectly, because in year 2005 you can only sign 1 year players or less

2006, you can sign 2nd year player or less, etc

You can also move your team near a rival and try to destroy them financially. (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7941)

Only if you get yourself fired though, otherwise it's no fun...

I thought to have all the different scenarios in one compact thread, it would be a nice sticky piece.

Here is a list of all the ways to play the game:

1. If you play the game straight up, it can be pretty simple to exploit the computer. Now I make up rules to prevent me from taking advantage of those exploits.

wow i tought on 5.1a the computer is pretty good now? there still exploits? that's alarming news :(

The AI has to have some pre-programmed logic to what it does. No matter how well programmed, the human player can eventually begin to notice pattern. This will give the human player some insight into the AI's decision making process that the AI cannot have into the human player's. Quite simply, I think there will never not be a way to exploit even the best written AI in these sorts of games.

They have been minimized to a certain extent, but there probably still are a few out there. I wouldn't worry about it too much, and to be honest I haven't had a lot of time to spend on the newest release. I'm in the middle of finals right now, and I should be finishing a research paper that's due today instead of being here.

Ok, Kodos, tonight is the night. You are going over the wall. Pay attention to when the guard down the hallway opens his umbrella. Don't worry about it being weird to open an umbrella inside, it is a diversion. At this point, look under your mattress. You'll find a coconut, a mirror, some macaroni and MacGyver episode #400. Watch the McGyver episode to figure out how to open your cell door with the macaroni and mirror. Whatever you do, don't leave the coconut behind. You'll be able to sell it on ebay when you are free.

am i the only one intrigued by a jail fetish? what does he mean by that? would having a jail fetish mean you like the idea of a weak man being forced to become a woman in an abusive relationship? or is it more like cimemax, where the all-womens prison does laundry 8 times a day, leaving no clothes for the prisoners?

Cat Foot Method:

I like to sit in a pleather chair, naked, in a puddle of baby oil, and play. On a credenza next to me I have a full set of players made from soft cat food that I move about. The home team is chicken and the away team is whatever else I have - frequently salmon. Often, I make them talk to each other in a falsetto voice. The coaches are large plastic dinosaurs. When players get injured I bite off the afflicted portion of their body (yummy! When fof2 came out I gained 18 pounds in 3 weeks!!!!). The losing team gets fed to fluffy.

I'll start. :)

I play multiplayer a little differently. A friend and I seperate the coaching and GM duties. One person does all the GM work and one person sets roster depth, training camp, off/def coordinators, and calls all plays in games.

So two people for one team. Works well for us and sometimes there will be fire fights over what to do. And no, the GM cannot fire the coach. :)
