I've got a copy of the original FOF on CD that I'm having to get rid of... I was going to give it to a friend with a game collection, but I'd rather give it to someone who might actually want it rather than someone who is just going to stick it in a CD book...

I don't have the original case or manual (I think there was one) - just the CD.

I'd like to trade it for something, but if I can't get anything for it, oh well.

That's an instant classic!

Take it to one of those antique shows and see what it's worth. :)

Dude, two words:

Collector's Item

What do you want for it?

True, a collectors item to someone who wants to collect it - I guess that's what I'm looking for...

Franklinnoble - do you have some older games to trade or something?

Sure... I've got old versions of Age of Empires... SimCity (actually, you can have my copy of SimCity 4 - I never got into it)... I'll have to look around at home and see what I have lying around.

But, seriously, I'd feel like I was ripping you off. You could probably get some money for that on EBay.

Although, I would imagine most of the devotee's of that game would be here. To be fair to all, you should put it on EBay and make sure to post a notice here when you do. I assure you, someone will pay a collector's item price for it, so that method of disposal is probably the best way to make sure it gets in the hands of someone who appreciates it as such.

Agreed. If I wasn't broke I could see myself putting around an $80 bid. I don't think it would be enough to win the auction though.

Are you guys kidding? $80. I know I'm a newbie here (lurked for quite a while before finally creating an account), but I would never have guessed that....

Nah, they're all joking. I'll give you $5 for it. :D

I'm dead serious. You could definitly get more than $80 for the game.

I don't know if I'd go as high as $80. Maybe half that. I dunno. I've never seen the original game... I found out about it shortly after it had sold out.

you'll only get 80 if your copy is haunted.

Post your FOF CD on E-bay and advertise it to us. I'm sure we'll see how much it's worth then.

(I've got FOF, FOF4, and TCY CD's and cases as well....hell, I even hand carried FOF on the plane when I moved to Turkey a few years ago...)

I have a handful of each still in shrink wrap (a couple of unopened boxes of FOF4, actually, it didn't sell so well, which is why I decided to do the MP thing).

So you mean that the original FOF can still be purchased, or are you only holding on to them as keepsakes?

I first played the demo of FOF2, which was apparently just days before FOF2001 was released. Because beteween the time of playing the demo then looking to buy, 2001 was the only game for sale.

The rest is history.

FOF2 was my introduction as well.

Do you think that had to do with the EA version competing against it, with real NFL logos and rosters?

FOF4 was a much better game, IMO... but I could see how it could have sufferred because of that.
