Weekly Results

congrats to Solecism for winning the week. Jim put away the rest of the field easily, scoring 444 points(2nd on the week was 281). He went 12-4 on the week with his picks, taking buffalo at 87%, the Pats and St Louis both at 94%, and Indy at 84%. Baltimore at 64% was the worst miss, with the other 3(Minnesota, Denver, and Oakland) all under 60%. That score notably jumps Solecism up from 112th overall to 37th in the overall standings.

2nd this week was TredWel. He went 11-4, leaving the KC/Oakland game blank. The misses hurt, Minnesota, Baltimore, and Seattle all at 70% cost him 96 points each. 3 correct guesses at 80%(New England/St louis/Indy) and a few at 70% help tip the scales towards the positive though, and his 281 is good for 2nd this week.

I, radii, finished 3rd on the week, with 248 points. I went 11-5, picking Atlanta at 65% and Minnesota at 85%(ouch). But I, also, benefitted from New England(85%) and St Louis and Indy(96% each), Philly at 70% and a few at 60% put me in the positive for the week as well.

We had 14 entries last week, with 11 positive scores. Having 14 of us stick it out through the entire season would be impressive, good stuff.

This was the first week of the month so the monthly standings are the same as the weekly.

Congrats to VPI97, whose 153 points crept him up 3 more spots to 3rd overall. At the end of the year, the top 3 in the overall competition win money. VPI is 302 points behind first, 59 points behind 2nd, and only 2 points ahead of 4th. Keep it up!!

It's already thursday, late enough for a reminder to pick this weekend's games.

What's up with the 94%/96% choices? Do you guys pick odd numbers like that on a whim or is there actually a reason to go with stuff that's not round, e.g. multiples of 5?
