I just got laid-off yesterday... 2nd time in since '01.
So I'm coming to the FOFC for some insight as to what are some good websites for job searches. I know about Monster and HotJobs, but are there some others out there that I can use?

Flipdog, also check your local newspaper online. I know in DC they have a section that is online for job searchers called washingtonjobs.com, so I think there should be one in your area. I have a ton of job sites bookmarked at home. There is also a big red book called "Job Bank", if you go to a Borders or something and go into the Reference section, it usually has every major company in your specific area. You should send your resume out blindly because not every place posts jobs on sites, and ya never know.
Also, sorry to hear about the job loss.

That f'ing sucks that you got laid off at this time of year. A curse on your company for doing that kind of thing.
Sign up for monster, and pay for the premium service. It's worth it. Your resume goes to the top of the heap - it helped my job search immensely.
I was laid off a little over a year ago, and it took me months to find permanent employment again... I did a lot of contract work in the interim.
What do you do? I know some people in Phoenix... maybe I can help.

I am part of this mailing list. People and headhunters post local jobs all the time. Hope this helps and good luck.

Gluck, it's tough to lose a job around this time. I was let go myself right before Thanksgiving.

I don't know anything about it, but if you have a technology background I've heard people get offers from dice.com

I know you are probably bummed, but if you want a site to pick you up, check out Odd Todd. Hxxp://www.oddtodd.com (hxxp even though it's mostly safe). When I was off work for a bit, it cheered me up...he had a show that was going to be picked up by comedy central, but fell through.
Good luck with the hunt.

Kathie Lee Gifford is always hiring.
Seriously, though...sorry to hear about this. Think of it as their loss.
