With my first big paycheck in October I bought a King size Celebrity Tempurpedic bed. Its the best night(s) of sleep Ive ever had. Now today my GF informs me that she hates the bed. Makes her hot, she wakes up, cant sleep. So no I have to return the motherfucker and fight with the company who sold it to me so that theyll take it back. Im so pissed!!!!! Damnit!!! I love that bed. ARGH

ANY recomendations on a bed, I like a moderately firm mattress.

Check out the Heavenly Bed from Westin. You can buy the same one they use in the hotels. Because of that, you can do a "try before you buy".

It has been the best bed I have ever used.

I very recently bought the Select Comfort 9000 King Size bed. It was expensive, but this last month I've slept better than I've ever slept in my life. Ms. Eaglesfan loves it too. You can adjust the firmness on either side. Also there is a layer of the mattress that you can invert to either retain heat or dissipate it. It's expensive, but well worth it I think (assuming it lasts for 20 years or more as I'm hoping it will.)

Oh yeah, Select Comfort has a 30 day money back guarantee (minus the setup fees)

I got to pick an item from a little two page catalog for my 5th year anniversary with my company a bit ago.

I went with the hammock, yup, you hear right my friends, I got a hammock for free! Not just any old, tie to two trees hammock either, oh no. This one has a little base thing, and even though one of the bars was already bent when I started to assemble this lovely piece of my companies gratitude towards me, it still works wonderful. Just make sure you lay down or get up real fast though, or else it likes to unhook itself and you fall.

But hey, it's pretty comfy for those 5 minute naps or so.

Makes her hot, she wakes up

I'm not entirely certain I see the problem here....

the company i bought the Temp. from is pushing the "sang" mattress. Supposedly provides the same body comfort but airs better, therefore cooler. Its made by simmons....anyone hear of this? Simmons.com

Uhmmm.. I think Select Comfort. We have a Select Comfort store here in the mall, and they have a website too. Yep, just checked. Selectcomfort dot com has information on all of their beds. They come into your home and set it up. It was an easy process, and I got a deal from the store manager where delivery charge was cut to 25% of normal, he also gave me 25% off all of the accessories that I bought.

Can't you get a fan? Just point it at your girlfriend.

Besides, a think we all know the heat is generated from you Flasch. You are just a star, shining brightly as you go through the world....

That's odd that it made her hot. I thought the foam was supposed to keep you cool. I have the pillow and it's very cool compared to down. What cartman was saying about the Westin mattress is true. It's very comfortable. So are the ones in the W.

i guess for her it doesnt breathe. I dunno, the pillow i have is cool for sure but I guess the initial coolness when you lay down becomes a heat. I dunno, Im in a lose lose anyways so i gotta make a switch or no ass for me ever.

wow thats an expensive bed.....but you dont get hot at all sleeping on it?Yes it is very expensive, but neither Ms. Eaglesfan nor I get hot on it (of course it is still 80 degrees here some nights so we have our central air on when that is the case.) That being said, it is *extremely* comfortable, and I love that my side is quite firm which is how I like it, while Ms. Eaglesfan has her side set to a very soft setting.

I thought only old people complained about beds. Buy a waterbed, man. The ladies love waterbeds. Actually....even better...a pudding bed.

Even better than a pudding bed is a giant tub of baby oil. Have the women bring over a girlfriend and you got an instant oil wrestling match!

After reading this entire thread, I'm pretty sure the problem is with the girl, not the bed. Cringer was right all along.

If she's simply getting too warm, why are you even considering a new bed? she can dress lighter if she wears pajamas or a heavy nightshirt, she can leave off heavier blankets if you use them, hell you can turn down the thermostat!

You can also look her in the eye and say "yo, its a bed, make it work for you." granted this may get you banned from said bed for a short time, but damn man, this seems a bit extreme. She needs to learn to cope.

she sleeps naked

were going to try a mattress pad tonight

its tough to tell someone that youre likely going to spend the rest of your life with, "sorry you cant sleep hon., deal with it."

All of this over a girlfriend? It's not like she's your wife or anything...

she sleeps naked

Oh. What kind of an asshole doesn't make sure she approves of the bed before you bring it home? Now let me know which store she'll be auditioning the replacement bed at, alright? :)

My wife and I also have a SelectComfort (aka Sleep Number) bed we picked up because our old bed was breaking down after about 6 years. We both love it; I've tried air mattresses before and did not like them, but the pillowtop on these took care of any problems I had. We each set the firmness and off we go. They have a good warranty and a trial period. Definitely worth a shot.
