I hate how guys refuse to say who they voted for or in what order they voted the guys. Why refuse to say? I see no problem with saying who you voted for.

Eh, I don't think the intrigue is there. I think I have a problem with an award like that always being awarded to a player that fits their conception of the Heisman winner, rather than to the best player in D-1A college football (let's face it, you're not gonna get a winner from any other level.)

Still, he's deserving I guess. But I'm sure Peterson will still do okay, provided he keeps racking up the numbers over the next few years. 2nd isn't exactly chopped liver as a freshman and beating out a former winner (even if he did vote for you)

The (strange) thing about Bush is...he looks awesome playing the game (I think he's amazing), but he only has 2 games over 100 yards rushing in his career, and 2 games with over 100 yards receiving.

For me, this year lacked that clear “Heisman” moment. The one moment where when you saw you said “there is your Heisman winner” I thought Adrian Peterson came the closest with his performance against OSU. It reminds me of the BCS. You had worthy candidates, all bunched together as far as their credentials. So how do you distinguish between these five candidates? I am surprised by the margin of victory however. I expected it to be much closer. I guess Adrian Peterson and Jason White pulled more votes from each other than Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart. I am happy to see that Peterson came in second at least. He would have been my choice but at least there was a blatant disregard for his season just because he was a freshman.

Not really. It's pretty easy these days. Look at the #1 team. Their QB wins the Heisman.

It seems to me that most of the time the Heisman ends up being awarded on the basis of a popularity contest. It seems that about 75% of the time the winner sinks without a trace once he enters the NFL. It also seems that by the time the Bowls come around, there's someone else who is performing way better in the really big games that matter.

That's why I generally don't comment.

The winner may sink when he enters the NFL but the Heisman awards the best player in college football that year, not the best prospect for the NFL. Bowl games matter, besides the BCS? Also, to judge the players on the performance on one game is not good. Look at the big games over the season, when games really do count.

He didn't say that Pollock truly deserved the award. He just used him because he liked him.

It is all a team thing. It is a team game. If your going to have an award of the "Most Outstanding Player," then you have to consider both sides of the ball (and the O-line too). AND the most outstanding player doesn't have to be on a national championship contender, either. I believe the award is about as over rated as the MNC.

So? And QB's get all the pub, which is why most of the voters vote for them, even though many of them never even watch them play a game. It just underlines what a joke the award is.

Aye- it seem inane. when Woodson won the award, I thought their was a genuine movement towards a best player, as opposed to best player on best team.

I swear, the Heisman voters all watch the highlights(which show only the big teams) and they base their votes off the biased highlights and commentary going along with it.
