The Washington Redskins have recently become available in the HFL.

Manage the likes of Steve Tensi, Don Parish, Dick Butkus, John Brockington and more! :)

We're currently in week 3 of our second season (1971). If you're interested in taking up the GM mantle for the Redskins, stop by our forums (link in my signature) and post in the Waiting List forum. We may have some additional teams opening up in the near future.

What are "midweek file exports?" And do you prefer owners that know about the history of the NFL (and its players)?

What are "midweek file exports?" And do you prefer owners that know about the history of the NFL (and its players)?


Midweek exports are sims run for transactions so that they do not occur on gameday. If you add/drop players on gameday, the game resets you depth chart!!!

I think having a basic knowledge of NFL history might add to the enjoyment of the league, but it's by no means necessary.

For example, I didn't really know who Bobby Douglass was before I found him on my team, but now... HE'S THE MAN!! :D

They're optional exports that we run between games for owners to sign free agents and make roster transactions. This allows them an extra sim to set their rosters, prior to gameday, without the AI interfering with their depth charts.

Edit: And no, we don't require any knowledge of NFL history, though it may certainly enhance your own enjoyment. I'm no NFL history buff, but I find it a lot of fun to play with the historical players. It's also been great learning about some of the players that I wasn't famiiar with, and a ton of fun seeing Dierdorf, Riggans, Profit, Manning, and others enter the 1971 draft class.

As an update:

The Redskins have been taken. However, the Seahawks have recently become available, and there may be another team opening up in the near future.

We currently have only two people on our waitlist, so one of them will likely land the Seahawks, but we welcome all to register on our forums, sign-up for the waitlist, and join in the community until a spot opens up.

No, but kwhit has, so Pittsburgh is ownerless. This set up a chain reaction of Aylmar moving to Pittsburgh and Todd moving from Atlanta to St Louis, and freeing up the Falcons in the process.

That is why we want to wait until the end of the season to make all the switches.
