Okay, Santa Claus was really good to my really good 6 y/o, so he awoke to find both an XBox and a PS2 under the Christmas tree.

As it happens (aka, what mom & I could find), his sports games are all PS2 with assorted other stuff for XBox. Right now, he's got:
ESPN College Basketball 2k5
EA's MVP Baseball 2004
ESPN NFL 2k5
and, as his first purchase with some gift money, he's sitting across the room playing ESPN NHL 2k5 (or whatever it's called)

He's got another gift coming, which is EA's NASCAR 2k4/2k5 (whatever, it's the Chase For the Cup version), for XBox, but I'm thinking another sports title for XB would help balance his play between the systems.

Any suggestions?

FIFA 2004/2005 ? Its supposed to be a fairly decent game, but if your kid isnt interested in soccer....

Alternatively, Top Spin is a Tennis Spin- which is interesting.

NFL Street is a nice game and only bout $20 now with the sequel just being released. Much more Arcade compared to the others, but it's a good change of pace.

A 6 y/o playing sports games... brings a joyful tear to my eye.

How about Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 if you wanna get him into golf at an early age?

By far the best sports game I have ever played for the XBox is NCAA Football. I have 2003 and 2004 but have not played 2005. The others were very solid and I imagine the 2005 version is too.

If you don't have XBox Live for sports games, I'd recommend the Action Replay for XBox. You can download the real names for NCAA and other things for the XBox.
