Well someone had to ;).

Utah is up 7-0 right now. The Utah D seems to be holding Palko and Pittsburgh for now. Let's see how many points they'll ring up.

It really looks like the game is Utah's for the taking. I think this will be a comfortable win for them.

Probably, but it is sort of surprising that the 1st Q ended, and it's only 7-0.

My Lord... don't let the ball hit you in the hands, Lee (Pitt WR). That was a sure TD dropped.

Utah seems to get better as the game goes along. I've watched them a lot this year and the second/third quarters are where they excel. I look for this to be a fairly close game at half time. Then I think Utah will start scoring at will and will runaway with the game.

I love when the announcers watch a replay and make no reference to a 'catch' that was clearly a drop. They just completely ignore it.

Good to know I wasn't the only one that noticed it. Was waiting for it to come, and when it didn't.....

Is it just me or does Tyler Palko take off running every other play?

And yeah, I noticed the 'catch' that actually was a drop.

Hey, a blocked FG :D.

Well Utah has now gotten it's second TD.

Ya think Pitt misses Fitzgerald? Could be a much closer game with a good WR.

"I know of at least two games today that ended on the last play."

Well imagine that...

Pitt's offensive lines have always been awful under Walt Harris. Everytime Pitt starts to get a drive, they get sacked and Palko has very little time to throw.

These announcers are funny. The color guy wants to make a point but is ALWAYS being cut off by Brent Musburger who just will not shut up! It's like he wants to be the only guy in the booth! :D

I've noticed that a lot this bowl season. One commentator is talking and the other one just cuts him off. I enjoy it.

You just want to hear a fist fight in the booth, don't you? ;)

WOW... that halftime 'reconnection' suprise was actually pretty damn cool. Thumbs up to the Fiesta Bowl!

I don't think Peyton could've thrown a pass through that hole, unless it was bigger than I was thinking. Maybe I was missing something, but that hole was pretty small.

Where's Ricky Williams smokin the dope? He called his retirement when touring with Lenny.

Well, good for Utah. I really wish they could have gotten a shot at Auburn though, as I'm sure this will get written off because they're playing Pitt.

edit: and the announcers bring this up about 2 minutes after I say it.

HAHA... both coaches said they were coaching in the Bowl Game, even though they have new jobs, because they told their team to 'finish'. That was funny, it is like they both had the same speech.

Wow, Troy, right on the money. 3rd Q and Utah is kicking it into another gear. 28-0

Holy Crap! That was a Hell of a catch by the Pitt WR!

wow. Utah just scored on one of the coolest, most original plays I've ever seen. It's the touchdown that put them up 35-7 for those who will see the highlight later.

edit: my best description would be "hook and ladder meets the flea-flicker"

I don't think anyone in Pittsburgh is going to miss Walt Harris.

The screen-and-ladder. :-D

Great play.

It's really an impressive offense to watch. It's as if they took all the best elements of a true option offense and integrated it into a passing scheme. I love the sheer amount of trick plays, it's great stuff to watch.

This is why I was not bummed out that WVU didn't get the BCS bowl. Losing to (a prestigious) FSU in the Gator Bowl is going to look a lot better than losing to (or even beating) Utah.

I like the Utah, Auburn, and OU lines far more than this one anyway. Pushed, I'd say I'd pick Utah as my best bet. I think they are just going to light up Pitt in the second half.

That was my quote in another thread.

I've watched enough Utah football this year to know what they can do to marginal teams, especially after the feel them out for a little bit and figure out their scheme.

Pitt is a decent football team, but they just aren't on Utah's level. I would have put some serious thought into taking Utah if the spread were 21 points. This just had the look and feel of a serious mismatch to me. I figured Pitt would put some points on the board early and though the halftime score would be more like 14-14 instead of 14-0.

Pitt better not drop the intensity level. Utah will put up a 50 spot on them if they turn it off. Urban is not good at calling off the dogs.

Yeah, Palko and the Panthers are looking seriously overmatched here. The offensive line is killing anything Pitt can do. Has Palko gotten any time at all tonight?

No, but I'm a bit concerned about his ability to read a blitz. He's ran into sacks a few times and had plenty of time to get rid of the ball others. He needs to improve that or he'll end up being the next Rob Johnson.

Props to Pitt. They are playing hard to the end. They've been dominated, but they didn't quit. Some major kudos to them.

You assume Palko will be drafted to be the next Rob Johnson ;). They say Palko has heart, and he does... but he doesn't look like a good QB to me. Though I haven't seen many Pitt games this year (not just based on this game, btw).

Still young. Has a good arm. Makes the right read when he actually throws it.

He'll get drafted. He's gotta learn to get rid of the ball though. Some of those sacks were inexcusable.

Bad thing is he has Wanny coming in now. God help him.

ISiddiqui
01-02-2005, 12:23 AM
Well that's exactly why I don't think he'll develop to be a drafted QB ;). I have NO faith in Wanny. Then again, sometimes crappy NFL coaches make good college coaches.

Anyway, it's official... there will be at least two undefeated teams in 1-A this year.

looking forward to next year, I dont think leak is the QB for that offense from coach meyer.

Its hard to tell how good a QB is when he is constantly on the run. They put more pressure on Palko than I have seen on any QB all year long. They attacked, attacked, and attacked.
