Computer Sound Help

So for no reason my computer sound is acting up. With AIM sounds or winamp, i have to have my volume controls all the way up to hear something decently. But if I play a CD it works fine. The volume on the speakers is where I normally keep it, so I can't figure out what the problem would be.

Any ideas?
