View Full Version : Any Indy/Pats Fans Care to Make a bet?

I was thinking something along the lines of the USC-Sooners signature bet from the BCS game. As an arrogant Patriots fan, did I mention two Super Bowl titles in the last three years versus the Colts' 0 in our hero, Peyton Manning's era, surely you all can think of something splendid to put in my signature until the Super Bowl is over. If enough people from each side care to be involved, maybe we can set it up with one on one matchups, winner designing a unique sig for his opponent. If you're interested, post what side you'd like to take.
This is a betting thread so posting here assumes you are taking up the challenge. Right now I have:
Greyfoo (Colts)
spleen1015 (Colts)
INDalltheway (Colts)
Ardent on behalf of his wife (Colts)
cody8200 wishfully dreaming the Colts could play D like Miami (Colts)
Kodos ate paint chips before he picked (Colts)
Scoobz0202 (Colts)
Balldog (Pats)
jeff061 (Pats)
Desnudo (Pats)
SirFozzie (Pats)
Sublime 2 (Pats)
Frogman (Pats)
BishopMVP (Pats)
McSweeney (Pats)
I'll set a deadline of Friday, Midnight EST. I'll work out the best way to make everything come out so that all the Pats, or, should the Patriots get locked inside their locker room before the game, Colts fans get to have some input into what goes into people's sigs. I'm still leaning towards 1 v. 1 with names out of a hat should we get enough people. That should create some nice reading.
Here are the match-ups:
Greyroofoo v. BishopMVP
spleen1015 v. SirFozzie & McSweeney
INDalltheway v. jeff061
Ardent v. Frogman
cody8200 v. Balldog
Kodos v. jeff061
Scoobz0202 v. Sublime 2
I will leave it up to the individuals involved to decide the exact wording of their opponents sig(s) should their team win. Any side bets are not the responsibility of management. Due to numbers balance I will bow out of this competition unless any of the Patriots antagonists like TroyF or Crapshoot would care to put their money were their mouth is.

I offer the following bet to any Colts fan, anyone who thinks Peyton Manning is as good as everyone says he is, and anyone willing to bet against the Pats.
I will put up. "I was wrong. Peyton Manning is JUST THAT DAMM GOOD" with the score in my sig..
versus.
"How can Peyton Manning be that good when he can't beat the Pats?" with the Score.. in your sig.
Length of Time: At least 45 days.

I will bet my sig with everyone on this board that the Colts are going to beat the Patriots this Sunday. I'll put 600 lines in my sig if they lose.

Then you're on.
My wife says the Indiana Colts are going to win the Super Bowl. She based this off highlights from last week's game where "Peyton threw pretty passes to his little friend Reggie. Reggie is very fast and he makes everyone look silly."

Colts will not only win...they will dominate. I seem to remember one Tom Brady throwing 4 INT's earlier this year and losing to Miami-ouch.

Yeah, cause the Colts defense is certainly comparable to Miami's. Especially their secondary.
The Pats will score at least 30 points. Let's see what Manning does.
Edit: Despite my sig, I'm a Patriots fan ;).

I'm in....for the Pats!Me too. And I'll put "Peyton Manning might really be that good, but I'm going to stop arguing about it with Patriots fans until he and the rest of the Colts actually win. This time he was facing a secondary with Randall Gay, Earthwind Moreland, Troy Brown and Don Davis and it was still XX-XX New England. Patriots win. Again." as my entry. I'll put up anything not obscene or of obscene length in my sig if we do somehow lose. And I'm not hit by one of the pigs flying around. :p

Where are the Colts fans? Surely there are plenty of Manning Apologists on this board who would like nothing more than to stick a nice blurb about him in a Pats fan's sig?
Or, like Manning, are you only good for the regular season? ;)

Anyone want to grab the Pats @ Gillette Stadium record?
Yeah... Pats will win, not by much, probably won't cover the 2.5 spread, but they will win.

I think that if the Patriots lose, The Pats fans should have sigs that say "Tom Brady = Derek Jeter- just as goddamn overrated"

Put me down for the Colts. I see Manning setting the record for the most TD's thrown in a game.....ever...yes....ever.:)

Or, " Transitive Property - If A is = to B, and B is = to C. Then A is = to C.
Example: As Tom Brady is equal to Derek Jeter. As Derek Jeter is overated. That means Tom Brady is just as goddamn overrated. "
Or not.

Welcome to your new sig for the next 45 days.
I'm a man of integrity, so I will put this in my sig. However, I will not go down without an argument as to the truthfulness of the statement.
We all watched this game. We all know it was the 250 rushing yards the defense gave up that lost this game. This is a Indy/NE game that wasn't lost because of Manning for once.

he had a couple opportunities, but agreed, he wasn't the MAIN cause of this one. In order, I think I would blame..
A) the defense against the run.
B)The playcalling (how many screens and short turn and passes with no blocking can you call)
C) the drop balls.
D) Peyton made a couple bad decisions..
