Woman arrested for deleting savegame
A Japanese woman was arrested for wiping her boyfriend's save game data…
The jilted girlfriend, said to be in her thirties, logged onto her ex-lover's Lineage account with his username and password. Once there she deleted his game data including all the items, weapons and clothes he had collected.
Although the boyfriend did not suffer financially he reported the misuse of his account to the police. Police then reported the woman of Toyama Prefecture, to the Fukushima District Public Prosecutors Office accusing her of violating a law banning illegal access to someone else's online accounts.
The woman has admitted the crime. "I did it as revenge for breaking up with me," she told police.
The couple actually met through playing the game, love blossomed in the online RPG and the lovers soon met up. However the relationship did not last long and thoughts turned to revenge.
Imagine having your save games held ransom by a jilted lover. A treasured memory card held over a fire, "you better not break up with me or the Final Fantasy VII save gets it." Scary. Very scary.

That's hilarious and sooo justified, whether she deserved to be dumped or not, she had the brains to think of what would really get to him...

Um, this never would have ended well.

I actually know of two of these marriages occurring during my Everquest days. Well I've heard of more than that, but I still have contact with two couples who met "in game", married in Real Life, and have even reproduced.

At the state agency where I used to work, we had one guy who was the ultimate anti-ladies man. By the time he got into his mid-30's, he decided he wanted to have a family, so he took to the internet and found himself a doctor from Moldova. They corresponded via internet for a year, at which point he took a trip to see her, and 6 months later brought her to the US to get married.
However, before all of that, while the romance was still budding, he came into my boss' office one afternoon (there were 4 or 5 of us in there at the time), and announced, giddy as a school girl, that he had gotten his first *virtual kiss.* And my boss, without missing a beat, said, "Well then can a vritual blowjob be far behind?"
I'm not quite sure how to describe this guy's face, nor the shade of red he turned. One of the funniest moments I can recall.

I don't know about the "justified" part. What if he dumped her for cheating on him?

...backs up save game data from TCY, FOF, TPB, and OOTP... and hides the CD before the wife gets home.

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me.
There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me.
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall.
You say it best when you say nothing at all.
