... an actual nice, decent, just regular feelgood story.

LIMA, Mont. (AP) - Eight high school students who gave their senior class trip money to a teacher with cancer will be able to travel after all, thanks to donations from people who were touched by the students' generosity.

The eight graduating seniors at Lima High School in southwest Montana gave $5,000 in December to Karla McGraw, a teacher and volleyball coach diagnosed with advanced breast cancer to help her with medical expenses.

When Lima resident Ben Yarbrough heard about the students' donation, he set up a fund that has since grown to more than $8,300, thanks to donations from as far away as Florida and New York City.

"It's just been so amazing," senior class president Tahnee Stosich told The Montana Standard for a story published Saturday. "It was a complete shock to all of us when they first told us we may still be able to go on our trip."

More than $3,000 in the fund came from high school students in the nearby town Dillon, who raised the money by selling cookie dough.

"It seems like every day we read about kids getting into trouble," said Dave Marsh, a resident who told Dillon students about the generosity of their peers in Lima and suggested the fund-raiser.

"We always hear the negative, but when things like this happen, you know that our kids really have a lot of good in them, especially these kids in Montana," he said.

The students - many of whom have never seen the ocean - wanted to visit a coastal Oregon town.

A man donated airline tickets, a hotel cut $1,000 from the price of their rooms, and they received free tickets to a Portland Trail Blazers basketball game. The eight students were also invited to travel to Salt Lake City in March to shoot a few hoops with the Utah Jazz before watching a game.

but, of course, they wouldn't donate for the teacher who has breast cancer.. or maybe onate to the Susan G Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.

The story doesn't say they didn't. As far as the kids, that is a cool story.

See, I was gonna mention that my over/under for someone trying to fuck up this thread was 5, but I figured that was just me being cynical ... Silly ass me.

But since you decided it was neccessary to be a bit of an asshole about this, and couldn't wait ten minutes to do it:

1) You know them all? You know who did or didn't donate to what?
Didn't think so, so STFU.

2) You know what other charities they've donated to? Or in what amounts? Or how much time they've given? No? Didn't think so, so STFU.

In the future, if you've got nothing worth a damn to offer other than pure worthless trolling like you offered here, please do the world a favor & simply STFU.

Sincerely,

I thought finkenst meant the people who donated to the students wouldn't donate to the teacher....oh well.

I think it's great, and it truly is one of those "Pay it Forward" moments.

That being said, I was going to post something to the effect of, "I bet that teacher is hot and that's why they donated," but it would've been misinterpreted as trolling, instead of my own sense of warped humor.

Who knows that the people who donated to the students didn't also donate to the teacher or a charity?
