Yeah, i'll get flamed and called a fag, but so what.

As I was sitting there and the clock was counting down I remembered my first memories of the Eagles. 1982, playing the Bengals. Those colors, green, white, orange, black, so vivid, I was mesmorized. Who knew that that team and that sport would become such a huge part of my life. Thru the highs of Randle and Buddy to the lows of Kotite and Rhodes, the hope of Hoying that passed like a ship in the night, the career of Chris T Jones that ended too soon, all the promise never quite fulfilled. And as I realized that every Autumn and Winter Sunday for the past 22 years i've lived and died with my team and now I have the chance to watch them play in the Super Bowl, to root for them in the Super Bowl, and I was so happy, and I wept, and I may be a flaming homo, but i'm the happiest flaming homo in the world right now.

18-14. I didn't remember the score but I remembered that there was a Saefty. Fuck, for a 7 year old those colors were so awesome. I remember reading boxscores and whizzing thru my 3 and 7 timestables in school like nothing. :D

I'm glad for you, but I will be rooting against your Eagles come Superbowl Sunday. Well unless of course they are getting like 8.5 or 9 points.

I got a few things out of your post though. I'm happy you consider Rhodes a low point, I just seem to recall everyone talking him up, and thinking I was the only one who thought he just didn't have what it took. I was also surprised that you had even a flash of hope from Hoying. In fact I just think that is funny.

The other thing I got out of this post is that it is great to be a fan.

Well Rhodes and Hoying were similar in that they both started out nicely, giving hope. It diminished quickly yes, but it was there for a season.

And yeah, days like today, for me at least, make me remember why it is I love this game/team so much, and make me appreciate it, cause ya never know it when will happen again.

I cried when Elway won the Super Bowl. I don't recall ever crying about a sporting event other than that one.

Bobby Hoying kicks ass, you all suck.

SUCK!

Oh, and go Eagles, wipe that non-expressive look off of Bill Belichick's face.

You weren't alone Suicane.

As a matter of fact, it was apparently a common enough sight yesterday that Tony Schiavone was making fun of you all around 8 o'clock this morning on Atlanta radio :D

Congratulations, Suicane. See ya in two weeks... I have a feeling it's going to be a Super Bowl to remember.

You and McNabb are fags. They guy was crying during the trophy presentation.

Good luck facing the Pats on your first trip there. You'd think Philly already won the SB the way they were carrying on.

The Eagles really have nothing to lose, nobody is expecting them to win anyway.

They are only 6 point dogs. I believe a lot of people will be taking Philly.

See that's the type of attitude you don't need. Both teams have the same thing to lose. All the hard work leading up to not winning the biggest game.

If the Eagles go in just happy to get there they will be thumped big time.

I never said that I don't think they are going to win, I'm just talking about the national perception.

Honestly, I think it will be a great game. If McNabb can keep everything together, it should be close. I think people are really not giving the Eagles defense enough credit. Sure, they give up a ton of yards, but consistantly over the past years, they don't give up alot of points.

I was on the verge of tears merely seeing UTEP run onto the field at the Houston Bowl. Imagine how the waterworks would have flowed if they had managed to pull the game out... :o
