Ouch. That's horrible.

I liked his body language at the end when the anchor thanked him. Classic.

A few thoughts:

- If this guy wrote his own material, he's got horrible memory. I suspect he didn't though, which was a major part of the problem;

- I'm guessing this guy needs glasses or contacts and was having a real hard time reading the teleprompter, another major part of the problem;

- He was nervous as hell anyway, and when it became clear he was bombing it just intensified his anxiety, the final part of the problem

Jeeber - as a person who has had to deal with his own issues in speaking in front of audiences (I'm deathly afraid of it, but it's a requirement for my job, so I've automatically gotten better at it), I find this clip absolutely hysterical - I feel his pain, "been there, done that", etc.

"Later he gets the rebound, passes it to the man, shoots it, and boom goes the dynamite". Oh man.

I can't stop laughing at the ball state guy.

"And he passes to the man" LOTFLMAO

Did anyone else think he sounded like David Schwimmer at the end with his "Yeah" when they went back to the main announcers?

Seriously, I feel for the guy. When things go wrong, especially live, they just snow ball.

Maybe he's just trying to be the next Letterman.

I loved his little "yeah!" at the very end of the clip.

Apparently the kid was on Letterman the other day. Anyone know where I can see it?

Oh man, everyone do yourself a favor and watch this. I could have done a better job on the fly. Does he not know anything?

Wayne Summers of Kansas, part of All American Baseball first team

(Even though the graphic had a basketball and clearly said Simien.)

Lets check out the highlights... (10 seconds and 2 clips of silence, before going with) he shoots he scores.. oh and he gets the ball and passes the ball to the man)

Just watching on the fly I could have said Jeff Foster to Anthony Johnson

Reggie Miller's looking good ...

I have the Letterman segment on my TiVo ... too bad I can't send it to you. :)

The Letterman thing was worried. It was during the "Audience Show and Tell" segment -- it raised a question to me whether he happened to be in the audience on his own or if they put him in the audience for this. Based on the other two individuals in the segment, I'd say the former not the latter. He was more coherent on Letterman, but he was still nervous. He blamed the sportscast on the regular guy having to back out at the last minute and that he was the only other person there wit a jacket and a tie on. He said he was already nervous and the "something" spooked him.

In typical Letterman fashion, the best part was after they showed his clip, they then showed clips from ESPN, Fox and local sportscasts of announcers saying "boom goes the dynamite." Finished with a weatherman from CNN.
