Hi all,
I've noticed this phenomenon in fof 2004. I wonder if it's intensional or a bug, or maybe it just seems fluky due to the way in which time progresses in the game?
Whatever the case may be in single user mode, I find that I need to make my roster cuts before I am allowed to simulate my week 1 game; However, this seems to also be the case for all the teams managed by the computer. The end result is that a whole bunch of quality players become available after week 1 has been simulated. In reality, shouldn't these players be released before the game allows progression into the regular season? It would be nice to be able to sign some of these guys going into week 1.

a man walks down the street
its a street in a strange world
maybe its the third world
maybe its his first time around...

I walked the avenue till my legs felt like stone
I heard the voices of friends vanished and gone
At night I could hear the blood in my veins
Just as black and whispering as the rain
On the streets of Philadelphia
And Al, to answer the original question, what you can do, although it's extremely shady, is sim every game but yours. That way the other teams will all have to make their cuts, and you'll get a chance to pick over the waiver wire before playing your game. But I do not condone this kind of shifty behavior.

I thought your goal was to extend the song game to as many threads as possible. Don't deny your plans for world domination.

he is a foreign man
he is surrounded by the sounds, the sounds...

Two posts with the same song? Someone is trying to raise his post count. All in a desperate attempt to convince the Stanley Cup that you're worthy of it. You're sick, just sick.

This may be a silly question, but do you have the global setting for the computer to make roster moves for you on? If so, that could be the cause of your guys getting released.

With the way that NFL Linemen are getting pretty heavy these days, in reality you may be talking about only 6 or 7 players released(that equal a ton in weight).
