The good folks at GameSpot missed the boat on one thing, though: Visual Concepts doesn't currently publish any sports games on GameCube. The last time they did so was College Hoops 2k3, before the sports line gained the ESPN branding.

Unless Take-Two had planned to return the 2k line of sports games to GameCube (where they never did well in the first place), this means absolutely bupkis as far as the exclusivity deal is concerned - MLB 2k* wasn't going to be there in the first place, so Nintendo is basically replacing EA Sports as the sole publisher of GameCube baseball titles. Still, nice to know GameCube owners won't get left in the cold...and I might even pick this one up myself, since it won't be on Xbox or PS2.

Dola,

The game is being developed by Exile, the team that brought us World Series Baseball 2k3 on Xbox (the game immediately before last season's ESPN Major League Baseball).

The Take Two deal is only third party exclusive anyway. They just want to shut down EA's MVP.

I know that. I just thought the GameCube owners on here (both of them) might appreciate knowing they can still get their baseball fix.

I know you know that. The article acted like this was a big surprise and somehow poked holes in the "exclusivity" agreement of take two. That is why I offered my comment.

The surprise is that Nintendo is releasing a baseball game after almost a decade of not having done so. Not that they're releasing a game in spite of the exclusivity deal.

Maybe it will suck like that stupid Kobe Bryants NBA Courtside basketball game.
