;0Newcastle is some good beer. But it isn't Guinness class.

I had 6 pints tonight. And an all-you-can-eat fish fry. Just a bit tipsy, but not drunk. That's the beautiful thing about Guinness - if you have any tolerance at all, you can drink as much as you like and you'll get full before you get staggeringly drunk.

Of course, if you want to get staggeringly drunk, there are other, more efficient, ways of doing so. :)

Are you sure that beer just doesn't like you? 'Cuz I was talking to beer last week and...well...let's just say there are rumors going around.

Was it the Bud Light, or the Sam Adams that told ya?

How can you be a man and not like beer? I think we need to revoke some man licenses around here. Tucker is still young and still has time to convert. By the time you are of legal drinking age, then you have to like beer. It is a man rule.

I don't drink, but I used to steal my dad's beer when I was 4. I drank about 12 ounces each week, which was kinda rough on me at the time. Until a few weeks ago, the only drink I'd had since was a sip of champagne at my wedding, and that's only because everybody there was watching me.

Now, as to what happened a few weeks ago, I sort of got urged into sipping a Thai beer called Sing Ha at a Thai restaurant. The owner or manager or something just gave me a bottle, and even after I insisted that I didn't really want it, he kept saying, "DRINK! DRINK! IT GOOD BEER! TASTE LIKE HEINEKEN! YOU DRINK!" Well, I took a sip, and my eyes nearly rolled right out of my head. It was horrid. I know it wasn't the best beer in the world, but I realized that I didn't really like the beer taste anyway, much less whatever shit the bottling company in Thailand put in it. At least the entire experience was redeemed by this same gentleman telling me that he was Thailand's version of Rambo, and he killed 200 men in order to get out of the jungle and buy a Thai restaurant in uptown New Orleans.

God bless America.

Look guys, it's not just about being a man. If you don't drink beer you'll die in an avalanche (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?t=35290), OK?

Not a great Guiness fan myself (still convinced it should be served by the slice not pint ;) ) ... although my wife loves it.

If you're introducing yourself to drinking I'd suggest alcopops ... hmmm WKD ...

Guinness - The beer for psuedo-beer connoisseurs!!!!!Bah...I enjoy a good beer, and while there are plenty of other beers that I consider great, Guinness is always a great-tasting option.

On the other hand, I'd be interested to hear what you'd hold up as being better than Guinness in its class, Schmidty.

I like Guinness, but it's definitley a weird beer--it's know for being filling, which it is, but I always found it to have a strange 'watered-down' taste, does anyone know what I'm talking about?

If you're going to drink Guinness you have to go with the Extra Stout. 4.0% alcohol is just too weak to catch even a little buzz on, even Bud Light has more.

Funny to say that your a "man", since your not even of legal drinking age. I think a man is not about what you drink/or don't drink.

So you would feel the same way about a man drinking a white wine spritzer as you would someone drinking a glass of scotch?

Wouldn't matter to me. What if a man was drinking coke, not alcohol? I don't really look at what a person does to decide if they are a man or not.

I think it was Winston Churchill that said, "There are two kinds of problem drinkers, those who drink too much, and those who drink too little."

Don't base your affection for beer on Guinness, not everyone can enjoy a stout, it's really an aquired taste. Try a hefeweizen or a pale/brown ale. Guinness is like bread it's so thick and bitter.

Not a whole bunch. But I have had your standard fare of domestic beers. They all taste the same to me. About the only thing I have ever liked, but its not beer is smirnoff ice.

If you can find it easily and haven't already marked it off as not for you, you might want to give Shiner Bock a try. It should be available where you live.

Beer is an acquired taste. The more you drink of it, the more you'll like it and figure out what you like best. If you want something that most people like, try an amber beer, like Alaskan Amber.
