Still Here

That is the shocking thing. That winning season, and the AD and everyone seeing the kind of program we have has helped alot.

Appel didn't do a lot while he red shirted, it has actually pissed me off, and he will be lucky if I give him any kind of shot this season.

I am thankful, when I came into the office to not see any resignation slips, however, the thing I hate seeing the most, are suspension letters and transfer letters. I had a total of 4 on my desk.

Our P Jeremy Stone, that was going to start this year, appeared not to be happy with being relegated to a back up role this season, so he transferred out of the school.

As for suspensions,

S Malcolm Corley
OLB Marvin Wells
WR Eddie Osborne

Were all suspended due to academics. Osborne would have saw some PT, but we will be working FR WR Gabe Styles into his spot.

Other than that, they were all in backup roles.

Week 1 Overview

We have a bye week, and we take it into heart, as we ramp up the season. No time off, it's work time.

We hit the recruiting trail pretty hard as well. We have some spots we need to build up. The following are must haves, and we should be hitting these numbers.

2 RB
2 FB
1 TE
2 G
1 P
3 DE
2 ILB
2 CB

Week 2 Overview

We head to Mississippi State as 5 point underdogs.

Offensively, we are still with the Pro Set, and setting up some serious yardage for Carruth.

Defensively, we are in a 4 down linemen set, and will be rotating the fronts depending on who we play.

Week 2 Injury Report

No inuries to report yet.

I liked the time of possession we had, and then look at those glorius rushing yards.

Not a bad start for Carruth, at 190 yards this week. but the shocker was the two trick plays within the Red Zone that had our WR's scoring rushing TD's. Great playcalling.

Also, Drake had good stats for this game, with a 55% completion and 0 INT's

Week 3 Overview

As the week progresses and we prepare for Kansan and CSTV to visit the Liberty Bowl, we hear that we have moved up in the polls even more, we are now, ranked 39th.

We are also 4 point favorites at home, and are now riding a 4 game win streak.

Kansas will be tough, but I think we can pull this one out.

Rough game, hard fought battle, and Kansas showed why they were ranked at #38 here. It is going to be tough cracking the top 25 this season. If all our games are like this, I do not know if I will survive the season.

Carruth had a monster game picking up 5 TD's with 4 on the ground and 1 receiving.

We lost FB Billy Joe Cortez for a bit due to a knee injury, that may hamper Carruth's running performance, as he is the bruiser that has been helping opening the holes up, and is great when we run Play actions.

Drake had another 0 INT performance, and his decisions are smart and crisp.

Defensively, we need to step it up a bit, Teppers isn't performing all to well like he did last season. I am trying to pump them all up.

I don't know what to expect this week.

We travel to TCU to take on the 7th ranked Horned Frogs.

We are 14 point underdogs, but with the way we played against San Diego State, I would place us at 30 at least.

I have expressed displeasure at the way we lost last week and that I DO NOT and WILL NOT tolerate mind lapses and miscues like we had.

Good luck this week coach!

Nope, he isn't.

He is ranked at 11th overall in the nation, however he is 4th overall in pts.

I have been exporting every seasons draft file, as I am thinking of running something with FOF as well with them

Week 7 Overview

No games this week, a solid bye week to let the injuries heal, players focus on their studies, and for me to talk to my DC, it appears he is rubbing a lot of people the wrong way.

Week 7 Injury Report

Kemp, Dean 29 CB Sr* Out Dislocated Shoulder 7 Weeks
Brewer, Lonnie 40 ILB Sr Probable Shoulder Tendonitis 3 Weeks
Cortez, Billy Joe 24 FB Sr* Doubtful Arthroscopic Knee Surgery 2 Weeks

Losing Kemp really hurts us, and chaps him....hopefully, he can recover quickly.

We invite a 2-3 South Florida to the Liberty Bowl, we are actually 2 point underdogs on this one.

Our DC has hopefully shaped up, if not, we will find us one by the end of the season.

Carruth has been sick with the exception of the TCU game, it is great to have a stud like him that can take over a game. Good job so far this year Coach, a couple of really nice wins.

9 point favorites as we head to Southern Miss.

The team is looking good, guys are reved up, and we are starting to kick it into stride.

There is one bad thing that happened this week, I was forced to suspend S Junior Mueller for the rest of the season for his recent DUI arrest. Strict team rules, force me to do this.

This game is proof that we cannot survive without Carruth. He asked, rather begged for us to ride his shoulders this game. I would pull him for a few plays because he looked tired, and he would sit for one play, and ask to be put back in.

Just like Prior on my team. It REALLY helps to have a back that can take over a game. Match that up with another good RB and you QB will start to see some receivers open up.

VERY nice game for Carruth!!

We managed to pick up one of the top OG's in the country, and he was sitting right

at home. He had no interest in us at first, but it was mainly due to the fact he

didn't want to be home. He finally came to, and we won him over due to his major.

This kid is solid, and a great steal for the OL.

And we lose more

FB Xavier Duncan - Clarksville
OLB Howie LeClair - Idaho
DE Rufus Alexander - Iowa State
K Kurt Sager - Iowa State
P - Bryan Angel - Idaho
TE Russell Mahovlich - East Carolina

Week 10 Overview

What a week, we now have 2 wonderfull commits on recruiting, we are now ranked 47th in the nation, and we are welcoming a 5-3 Houston to the Liberty Bowl. We are 8 point underdogs in our own house.

That stings, and I do not like it, but looking at the injury report, I can tell you why. Southern Miss beat on us pretty good.

Yeah, he is slightly dinged this upcoming game, I hope I can lean on him some for it without seeing major injury.

Week 11 Injury Report

Memphis Roster, Injury Report

Player # Pos Elig Health Injury Full Strn.
Emmons, Darrell 2 WR Sr Doubtful Sprained Knee 4 Weeks
Carruth, Carlos 44 RB Sr Out Repetitive Concus 75 Weeks
Burnstine, Austin 84 TE Sr Out Pulled Quadriceps 4 Weeks
Kemp, Dean 29 CB Sr* Out Dislocated Should 4 Weeks
Tepper, Lewis 96 DE Sr Out Broken Clavicle 14 Weeks

Carlos season and potentially his career is shot. It has been hard on the guy, constant migraines, blurred vision, I even walked into him puking his guts out in a garbage can, the guy isn't doing to hot. I am trying to figure out who to blame on this, the Dr's cleared him to play, but they are saying, it's the amount of concussions he has had in the past 2 years that is causing this.

Lewis is gone for the season as well, and that is something we have to live with.
