What is the best PC Business Strategy game available (for example Capitalism 2)?
Thanks.

Capitalism Plus is probably the best busniess strategy game I've played. It hasn't been a genre that's been given a lot of attention, except for specific busniess games (Roller Coaster Tycoon for example focus on one busniess. Haven't seen many games that handle several different ones)

Wall Street Raider is a stock market sim, but does a great job of simulating the financial world..and keeps getting better.

Did Capitalism II come out after Capitalism Plus? I have CII, but really haven't played it at all.

Yes Capitalism II was released a few years after Capitalism Plus.
There was an auto company simulation made several years back. You designed the cars from the ground up, starting in about 1900. I think its called Detroit and I definitely downloaded it from Underdogs.

Capitalism 2 has better graphics and some more features than Capitalism plus. Railroad Tycoon 2 is a pretty good busisness sim except that you're restricted to running a railroad.
As asked above, how good is Corporate Machine?
Has anyone tried it?

Never heard of it before you mentioned it, but here's a reasonably in-depth review (circa 2001) http://pc.ign.com/articles/166/166858p1.html

I've got it. It abstracts the business aspect quite a bit. You're sort of playing from the CEO-level: which territories to attack, which approach to emphasize (manufacturing, technology, marketing). It has what I would call a board game style of gameplay. You succeed by generating momentum - that is, by being the market leader in territories, which makes you more likely to be the leader in neighboring territories. Some territories are key and you will end up attacking or defending them. In some ways, it ends up being like a war game. Will you like it? I don't know. I've certainly enjoyed a few games.
I would also recommend Wall Street Raider. It is the opposite of TCM (The Corporate Machine). You buy/sell stocks and bonds. You can adjust growth rates and R&D/advertising spending (whatever drives that industry). Create subsidiaries to enter profitable industries. You have limited control over the functioning of the companies - the game is more at the financier level than the CEO level.
Finally, I'll put out a word for Rails Across America. It's a railroad game, but more abstract and at a higher level than the Railroad Tycoon games.
I believe demos of all three games can be found.
