OT: Free Songs via iTunes from Pepsi... Again!!!

Last year Pepsi & Apple did this thing where every 1 in 3 Pepsi bottles had a code under the cap which, if entered into iTunes, got you a free song download. I must have racked up 11 of these, and I'm not a heavy cola drinker.

Well, they're doing it again! (http://www.apple.com/itunes/pepsi/) :) From now until the end of April.

same here, I was down to averaging 1/2 a glass a day (maybe 6 ounces)... way down from the at least 20-24 oz of my earlier years.

I guess this promotion suckerd me in. Instead of my usual Diet Coke, I picked up a Diet Mountain Dew this morning. Yay, I'm a winner, too.

I was down to like 24 oz a week from like 72 to 96 a day....

Edit: Oh.. and I got a Pepsi out of the vending machine today and the damned thing did not even have a yellow cap.. argh!

Let me see if I get this straight. It costs $.99 to download a song from iTunes, which is roughly the cost of a 20 oz bottle of Pepsi. If there is a 1 in 3 chance of winning a freebie, doesn't it mean that each 'free' song carries an expected cost of about $3? Now, if you plan on buying the Pepsi already, than that's one thing. But to start buying bottles of soda or to increase your Pepsi intake to take advantage of this plan seems a bit counterintuitive to me. :D
