There's a decent preview of it on the new FG dvd. It looks pretty good, but it didn't have me laughing out loud like FG. Same setup. Dad, mom, 2 kids, talking pet (a fish with the brain of a German man), plus an alien who sounds like Paul Lynde. Maybe the fact that the clips were scattered caused some of the humor to be lost.

seems to me seth mcfarlane came up with this after family guy was cancelled.

then the dvds and airings on cartoon network revived family guy, and bam! he has 2 shows very similar.

it can only help, though, really. now he can make american dad crazier if he wanted to, since family guy has some guaranteed viewers...at least at the beginning.

this sounds like "Cosby" and "The Cosby Show" being on the air at the same time. Well, except for the talking pet.

I'm going to give McFarlane the benefit of the doubt and check this show out. I'm a huge Family Guy fan.

ROGER (the alien) has a potential to become a cartoon icon, like Ralph or Bumble Bee man.

I find him to be probably the best part of that show.

Off subject, anyone see The War At Home last night? That show was pretty funny, hope it can maintain it.

He already is. This character just seems to be a spoof on Paul Lynde, who - among other roles - was the voice of Templeton the Rat in Charlotte's Web.

Just not funny, compared to family guy. Last night's angle was just pitful.

American Dad seems like a one trick pony, a very old and wrinkly pony.

There are ways to have fun with those I hear.

Didn't watch it, but the previews looked HORRENDOUS. Usually, to me, the show is about twice as bad as the previews... however based on your comment, sounds like that isn't the case, here.

I didn't think to much of the "Child Molester" episode Sunday. I don't understand why it would be funny to watch a show about an underage teenage daughter having sex with her Dad's older Boss.

But, I was also a little dissapointed in Family Guy too.

Both shows were kinda blah last night. I agree the guy 40 years older or whatever was kinda sick.

The best from either show is Peter hanging out with his buddy Barney who was taking a shit and the pelican toilet says "and you thought your job was crappy" OMG that was one of the best lines. I loved it.

The daughter is in college FWIW.

It may not be for you, I won't promise that. But Loren and I enjoyed it a lot. Had some funny stuff. For a non-cartoon it seemed to fit in well between the Simpsons and Family Guy.

As Loren said, the 15 year old son who the parents suspect is gay (he denies it) kind of seems like a real life Chris from Family Guy.

The key is if they can actually have a second decent episode, and then keep going from there. I will not be convinced they can do that until after it happens. But I will watch it again to see.

FG was decent. Not great, but it stuck to the roots. I love the Quag in Spain.

She was in college. As for that, did you think it was gross when Meg sleep with Jimmy Fallon? I mean, its FG and American Dad. What did you expect?
